Liberty generator
I go to start the gen wait for it to preheat and then it just clicks and doesn’t start. If I try to take off the Watchdog and start it manually it seems dead just a slow crank and clicks. Any idea if it’s battery if so where it is to replace it ? I am trying to leave for Vegas today.
I have also reset the Watchdog too. -

Sounds like a starter battery on its last legs. I don’t have a clue where the battery might be located. I’d start looking around in the generator under bay or perhaps the documentation that came with your coach. You did get build documentation with your coach?
On the other hand, I recently had a somewhat similar problem. The battery was six years old so that was my first thought, dead battery. I had a trip to Jeff’s, if you are close go there, and found out the control cable fitting was broken and loose. We did not have time to tackle that problem so Jeff showed me where it was, made an attempt to stabilize the connection and that was the problem. I still need to get a replacement fitting or cable as it is a known problem.
You might want to add some information in your signiture such as Towed Vehicle, City of Residence. Also, since you have a specific destination you might include what routes you will be taking, there may be a shop along the way. The added profile data will help all help you when a problem is encountered.

Generally the generator battery on a Liberty is going to be under the shelf in the electric bay towards the RH rear. If it is the battery it is not difficult to remove the shelf to make the swap.

I agree with Jon. That is where mine is. Should be easy to find.
We have gauges for the generator battery voltage and coolant temp on the dash of our coach. You might have the same gauges. What does the battery voltage say? Right now sitting after the generator not running for probably at least ten days its 13.2. What is your voltage? What happens to the battery voltage when the generator tries to start? I suspect your sitting voltage is somewhat below 13.2 and when the generator starter puts a big load on the generator battery it pulls way down. Hence the battery is either “shot” or it needs a charge. How old is the generator battery?

We have made a weekend trip to Borrego Springs, CA…… love this area!
I, too, was curious where the generator battery is located and I found it inside the hush box next to the generator. The battery is in a sealed container.
(I know it’s a little dusty in there).
