If you’re not going to replace the tire, I would reach out to the Michelin tire experts. I think that Jon or Tom had one who would come to the maintenance seminars.

They might tell you to replace the tire … or take it to an authorized Michelin dealer who can inspect the tire, and if its salvageable can make the proper repair.

With a trip on the horizon, I wouldn’t take too many chances. If you don’t have Coach-Net now, probably a good idea to sign up for it.

I thought the same thing the first time I took my outers off.

You have stud piloted wheels with bud nuts that require a bud socket. New buses have hub piloted wheels with normal lug nuts.

You need a “bud” socket: 1/1/2″ x 13/16″ in whatever drive size (1″ or 3/4″) you use.
The outer nut comes off with the 1 1/2″ hex. The inner comes of with the 13/16″ square drive which is deeper in the same socket.
    NAPA, amazon, etc.

When I brought my bus home is 2020, the last time the tires were removed was 2003. My Inner drives were fused to the brake drums, so much that I had to use an orbital sander to remove the corrosion on the wheel and drum faces. What i did is get a long pry bar, and with the axle supported, i put the prybar under the tire at the 6:00 position and lifted the pry bar up while spinning the wheel, it took like 3 revolutions and it finally broke free.

Ok great! Just asking because we have had some folks confused on that Gauge in the past. I thought initially on my bus it was Differential Temperature. I have a sensor in my differential, but can’t figure out where it terminates.

Are you sure it is transmission Temperature?

    Thanks Dick.

I have not tried calling PASS as I did not think they addressed these type of questions. I will definitely give it a try. I will also recheck the gauge wiring.

    Thanks for the response.

I’m going to replace the OEM front Bendix Quick Release valve QR-1 Bendix part # 229859N, It’s funny same part# but one says 0- PSI DIFF and another says 1-PSI max DIFF, Looking at specs it says 0 psi crack pressure?? Mike looking at those valves you bought, are they suppose to release quicker? 1 per side?

Jon, yes it is for the chassis. I added it as the converter pulled at least one thing thing off the chassis (don’t ask me why), the macerator. Sometimes we have it sitting for 3 mos at one site which led me to add the charger a few years ago.

I changed the chassis batteries (after 8 years) last June which is when I think the fuse went on the charger. Unfortunately, it does not indicate it is not charging and I missed it. We had parked from about Oct 10-Jan 10 then headed out to FL. Initially the balance light came on only when we started driving for a few minutes, but after sitting in FL at one site from Jan 12-Mar 1 it came on all the time, which led to this post.

In summary, the issues only started after sitting for some extended periods and I do suspect we are getting a little “drain” when parked but it doesn’t seem high enough to be too concerned. For the past 5 years the charger method worked well without impact, until the fuse went. Lesson learned where to look first.

Greg, There was some confusion on my part initially when i was diagnosing the problems I was having with my Electrical system. Earlier in the thread i didn’t know as much about my bus and how the DC side of things, 12 and 24 Volt chassis and 12 Volt house. My Bus Build sheet shows a 50DN 24 Volt 270 Amp alternator, but in fact has a 12 Volt 300 amp alternator Gear driven, which is used to run the Frigi Cool Country Coach version of the Cruise airs. My Country Coach Build sheet shows a complete bus with a 12 Volt alternator, 50DN gear driven which is what I have. the 100amp Vanner was installed to replace Two 50 amp that were wired in Parallel, so I am good from the Vanner standoint. Fast forward a month, with lots of troubleshooting i have discovered this 12 VDC 50DN does not put out any Voltage. The Alternator is shorted to ground Internally which took out the Voltage regulator and the start relay circuit which shorted the yellow ignition wire to ground also. After pondering my inability to find spare parts, and how rare these alternators are becoming I decided to pull it from the engine. I see it as a liability being spun by the cam gear without doing anything. If anything happened to the bearings it could cause damage to the engine internally. Short term i am going to rely on my 200 Watts of Solar and the Generator to charge the batteries until i can install a belt driven alternator over by the chassis alternator. I hope this clears up the confusion. Let me know if you have any questions.

You are so close to ETLC that a call to them might be in order. If you have a problem with your coach, they can fix it!

I am not familiar with your conversion but it’s most likely that the pump is 120V and that there is a reset button on the air compressor itself if you have not yet checked that.

Luc………Here is free advice worth every penny you will pay for it.

Replace the batteries with AGM, voltage and number of am hours your choice. Re-cable them as necessary if necessary and for the time being end your concerns about a second inverter until you have some experience with the coach under your belt.

When you have used it for a while and know your needs then revisit the inverter question.

You may find there are other more important ways to make the coach more suitable to your needs and right now you lack the depth of knowledge about the big picture to prioritize your needs.

Lithium batteries as replacements will certainly be an improvement, but they are not going to be drop in replacements. They require a lot of consideration to deal with multiple differences and limits.
