Those are indeed Knorr-Bremse. They have a boot or seal on the slide pin that deteriorates over time allowing dirt and moisture on the slide pins, causing dragging or lock up.
Rebuilding them is not all that hard. The rebuild kit includes two different types of grease and explains where to use them. Pay attention to the instructions.
My Prevost manuals have the Knorr-Bremse manual as part of the booklet. There are great instructions (and pictures too??). Also found online how to videos too.
Found various articles stating the only real issues with the Knorr-Bremen is the slide pins dragging or locking up from dirt or rust and normally happens on vehicles not frequently used. Biggest problem was noted as vehicle (wheels) being washed then stored (not driven afterwards) allowing rust to form on the slide pins.
When I rebuilt mine they were in need but still in working order.

That is really nice of you George to help out someone in the Community, do you have an agenda for the inspection? I think others here would be interested in what is done during a walk through.

Ditto, thanks!

RPU is Rear Pin Unlock fault. You have Prevost slides. Does the light on the switch panels blink? If so, they are blinking a fault code. You will need this to help troubleshoot further.
I hesitate to even tell you this, but you can fire the pin locks and pin unlocks manually with those pneumatic switches. This is in essence overridding the system. Bad things can happen if you aren’t VERY careful and know what you are doing.
Is the coach running? full air pressures? Aux air up and running?
There are a set of gauges just to the right of that switch bank. what do the gauges read?

Found the slide controllers and this alarm on the stack next to them
anyone know what this is telling me ??

Your Buddy was correct and gave you good advice, my coach sits in the shop in Canada approx 6-7 months without running, I have the 80,000 BTU Webasto, i always run that prior to any cold starts, in 45 minutes it takes the DD jacket water temp to 160 deg, then i start.
I actually usually use the webasto even on warm days just to exercise it.

My good Buddy that passed recently, Told me one of the hardest thing on a Diesel engine is cold starts, He said he always runs his Aqua Hot for a couple of hours on engine pre-heat before he fires up if bus has been sitting for a while, I’ve been either doing the same with Aqua Hot or plugging in block heater before firing up. After about 4 hours with block heater plugged in the Scan Gauge reads 80 to 100 degrees when it fires up. Those with Webasto’s it will also heat engine before fire up.

On my Bus, my Generator exhaust sweeps over the drive axle and is within 6 inches or so of my Brake lines. I bought a roll of that titanium wrap, and some metal tape, and wrapped the airlines. Everything is holding up well, I would highly recommend.

Good Morning Greg and VERY sorry to learn of your CA failures.
Do not know HOW significant it is or if it is possible it could have caused a failure, yet do ask Daniel about putting the evaporator fans on low as limiting air flow across the evaporator coils does change “pressure” within the unit. Yet, sure seems if pressure had been too high or too low, they would have shut down prior to failure. Perhaps a call to AAP in Virginia to seek Fred’s insight will provide the answers.
Best wishes and PLEASE let us know.
ALSO, can you ask Daniel, then provide us the compressor part number? And, whether or not the new compressors are R-22 compatible? THANK YOU

The internet is a big store. Shop there.

I had a FireTrace fire extinguishing system installed over the engine on our bus. Hopefully never need to use it.

Mike:
Your spot on.
I know on the Marina side of recreation, a lot of city codes are requiring marinas to upgrade to GFI’s when any remodeling or improvements are done, leaving boaters with no choice than to run their generators or find another marina. There are a large group of marina owners fighting these code changes (they have gone without GFI’s for years without issue’s) but not making much progress.

Dick, Don’t let this building problems get the best of you. In my case , a year of this and that. Change from rental to ownership of storage stall.
Apply for new operating permit
Re-survey the entire property
Meet with fire Marshall … for another meeting on sprinkler system.
They run you around the block. In the end write big checks to your attorney. He works for me and doesn’t put up with city personal throwing there weight around.

That snip is from my Prevost bill of lading to Country Coach. CC must have ordered the 3.58 installed for my Build.
