I wish we had more members with newer buses, I’m at a complete loss with the Volvo’s other than what I read. Bernie is able to provide accurate information due to his hands on experience with the latest and greatest from Prevost and Marathon. What amazes me as things become more complex, the actual running cost seems to go down.

The way I see it, if you have a Prevost, the cost of fuel should be a non concern.

RPM’s are determined by gear ratio in the drive axle and transmission.

Newer buses have followed a pattern to run at lower RPM’s for fuel economy by installing lower gear ratios.

Volvo has lowered the torque curve also in the motors to allow max pulling power at lower RPM.

We could go on for hours about this but that basically is how it works.

Question, you changed the control box on the front that reads hours and functions? If so where did you get it?

Reason I ask is that box is Marathon proprietary and if you didn’t get it from them things won’t work.

And yes Techlink would control that. Marathon doesn’t have too many proprietary things on the bus but that is one of them.

I had to change mine on the 07 and that’s what I remember.

Thanks Rudy, that was just the clue I was looking for. So the A connector voltage/current directly powers the water pump (mine is right there about a foot from the burner)? It does not activate a remote relay or other device?

Next question is if the control module is bad, where to buy?

My neighbor in Duluth is Pat Waddick. Super nice guy and a big shot at Cirrus. They had an oil line come off of a newly serviced turbo SR-22 about 10-12 years ago and it landed on the highway by my Duluth shop. They towed it to our yard. A mechanic forgot to tighten the oil line that runs the waste gate on a turbocharger. It was on an acceptance flight at the time with a new customer. No damage to the airframe, but the engine was toast. I got a chance to look it over and it is pretty nice. Still not sure why they have so many pull the aw shit handle. Maybe lack of training or something…??

There was oil from the rear of the engine bay all the way to the tail…messy.

THANKS to everybody. i do have a new norgren regulater set at 19 lbs. it could be leaking pass the ram seals, and i thought about an air switch in frt of the valve. and that could be the easy way around a long part time hobby. thanks every one.

How many a using auto pay? I use it for all of my monthly bills to insure I never have a late payment.Have done this for 50 years.

How many have auto deposit

? You need to be checking your credit card and bank account daily.

I have a email notice for every credit charge and for every bank charge, If you aren’t using this technology you are a potential fraud candidate.

Tammie and I are on a third or fourth rescue. Our first was a male Pug that was living with a family that had rescued him, but they personally had two or three Pit Bulls. We did not think twice about taking that Pug which was our third Pug.

When we built our home in North Carolina one of the roofers mentioned that he had a femal balck lab chained up at this house. Not a good thing to say to Tammie. She made him get off of the roof and take her to the Lab. That labrador was unchained, put in Tammie’s van, and brought to our home. She was great. In honor of my grandfather a duck hunter who named all of his lab’s Splash, we did the same. She was a loving and gentle dog.

Our most recent rescue is a Yorkshire Terrier that Tammie found in a stall in a barn at a friends farm in Eastern Kentucky. Mind you that outside of Splash, our black lab, we have had nothing but Pug’s. Tammie always wanted a Terrier and she was not about to let this continue life in this barn. When she came home from her trip, and as I was under the kitchen sink repairing a water line, she comes in and tells me she has rescued a Yorkshire. Two years later he is the sweet spot in her life.

So folks, rescues are great, and worth every minute of the love that they give back to you.

Changed mine in 2017 with sander sd7#5296 and bracket 52061 and back plate 5593 works great no vibration and holding up well. With bracket and backing plate bolts right in.

I was a victim of the $500 replacement door handle for late 1990’s XL’s. To add insult to injury I think it was really for the XII chassis and Prevost Parts had run out of the right one that they originally had quoted $160. The $500 replacement needed some remodeling to work and there were left over parts.

I should probably buy one of those Dorman latches and toss is in the parts drawer in case what I have breaks.
