mac valve exhaust air leak
help. i have replaced my step well slide mac valve twice. still have air lost when off. anyone noticed this. is a 12volt . marathon had replace this one in the past also. for the prior owner. any input would be great.

If I understand your question correctly, our coach, in addition to the leaking Mac valve, and a couple fittings, had a substantial leak in the actuator cylinder that moves the step well slide in and out.

why would a valve leak out the exhaust port ? i would think it would be faulty. my ram and lines are good. thanks for the reply.

my pocket door mac valve would leak. I replaced it still leaked. Figured out it needs minimum pressure around 20 psi to fully close off the exhaust port. I had been trying to lower the pressure so the door would close gently.

Most likely the piston seal in/on the air cylinder is leaking past the seal, thus letting air go to the exhaust port when the cylinder is stationary, choice is replace the cylinder or install a ignition key on valve prior to your directional valve, this was my solution much easier than replacing the cylinder

I put a small air regulator on my step well set at 45 psi no more leaks, 120 psi is a lot of pressure on that little ram

THANKS to everybody. i do have a new norgren regulater set at 19 lbs. it could be leaking pass the ram seals, and i thought about an air switch in frt of the valve. and that could be the easy way around a long part time hobby. thanks every one.

raise the pressure to about 25 psi and I bet it stops. The valve specs show a minimum pressure. the valve does not move to close the exhaust without enough pressure.
