Billy, Yes, I think the best thing for me to do at this point is go thru the Prevost 24/12VDC Charging circuit and trace all the wires (as much as i can) and document everything as best as I can. If the 50DN is bad, it needs to come out thru the bedroom floor. I need to pull the access plate to get at the terminals to check voltage when the bus is running, Priority #1. From what I can tell Country Coach had Prevost Install the 50DN and one Vanner for the Prevost 24/12 VDC Country Coach installed a Belt driven 12 VDC Alternator for the Chassis 12 Volts. What the second Vanner did, I have no idea, maybe there were two in series for the Chassis 24/12 VDC? I am going to Quartzsite at the end of the month for a few days to give the Bus a 600 mile shakedown, hopefully there will be some early 90’2 Vintage XL’s there. Thanks for everyone’s input.

MemberNovember 9, 2021 at 10:07 am in reply to: Clean sheet design: inverters, batteries, etc.I think I may be getting too hung up on the voltage from the 50DN. Jon, I saw a post from you over on the BGM site about your current setup, and I think you said yours was putting out 27.7 volts. Obviously not the correct voltage for charging your lithium batteries, but also doing no harm. If I place high demands on my batteries through inverter loads, the 50DN would serve to “refill” the batteries even though the voltage isn’t high enough to achieve 100% charge. If my understanding of that is correct, I then just have to ensure that the output from the 50DN doesn’t get so high as to damage it or the batteries. Apart from a circuit breaker, I’m not yet clear on how to achieve a working limit on the alternator output.
This discussion is definitely helping me, so I hope I’m not boring anyone. I really appreciate all of your input.

Thank you. That does make me feel better. We already have 3 different checking accounts. Probably don’t want to add another one just for fuel. May just use the one that has a smaller balance. Thanks for your input.

Art, Did you receive and install your ac compressor? I need one. Did the installation match up without any changes? Not able to find the TCCI ER210L-25149 here in Dallas Tx Would like to verify the fit before ordering on line from truckac.com. Thanks, Darrell

A drive shaft must be marked prior to removal so when re-installed, it is bolted in the exact same position from which it was removed. If removed and NOT re-installed exactly as removed, it can cause CONSTANT / NOT INTERMITTENT vibration. I.e., if it vibrates at 65MPH, it will always vibrate at 65MPH. Another cause of drive shaft vibration is if a balancing weight falls off. However, this would not be common since they are welded to the drive shaft.
Here is a company in your area that balances drive shafts…

I always thought that in the future someone might try to put electric drives to propel the Coach and have diesel engines provide the electricity. The same concept of the Locomotive. Michael

At the top of the site is a row of sections. You can access articles by clicking on that section.
You have a Liberty which is a modified system so while the operating principles remain unchanged there will some difference in the valving and operating controls.

I would rather eat bees than own the Zip Dee version with arms and air / electric operation. The original manual version was wonderful and in a nanosecond that is what I would replace the automatic version with it.

Are you going to post your coach for sale?
Good luck going land based.
