That looks similar to the element in the air filter for my generator but I do not have the number handy right now.

but I’m quickly falling into Jon’s camp.
As an engineer I have seen too many units come of an outage to go right back down due to infant mortality for new QA program quality part failures. I’m in the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” group.
That said, after a 20 year old, $18 tag slack adjuster had me on the side of road, I have 6 new slack adjusters in the barn waiting for me to get in the mood to get greasy. Jon’s recomendation was to just replace the bad one. So I’m throwing good parts away.
BTW, I got most of the parts from finditparts.com. 20% better prices than Prevost. Prevost was 50% lower than my local NAPA store could do with the card. Drop shipped direct from Bendix, I had the parts in 3 days. I had to get 2 of the slack adjusters from Prevost since the minimum order was 6. Took 2 weeks from Prevost who had to order from Meritor and then ship to me.

That’s a great idea! I second Davy’s motion.

The Prevost Community and Jeff Rowe combine to form my safety.

We stay at Tom Sawyer in West Memphis right on the river. It’s fun watching the tugs and barges.

Hey Dean,
We are Marathon #876, guess you could call us siblings????? Would be interesting to hear what your thoughts are with your bus. We just purchased May of this year. So far enjoying the ride and headed to ETLC nect week. -
Jon is very right
The new to us coach we just bought, was a quick decision. A friend called us from Marathon two Sunday’s ago.
he told us we needed to act fast, that this was one special clean well pampered coach. We began the dialog with Marathon within a day, made an offer2 days later, and was accepted. Then we drove 2600 round trip miles last week to see it. Scoped it out, had local Detroit shop do a pre purchase inspection, put on a rack, read DDEC, had them print out the ECM’s daily report back a year. Gave Marathon a short list of “to-do’s, drove home. Today service mgr at Marathon called to say bus is ready. Now planning, when we leave to fetch the new bus. Take delivery next Tuesday. We have never acted so fast, our heads are numb. Exciting, to say the least. To keep focus, we have been prepping the Beaver Bus for selling. It appears from conversations with our sales guy, three other parties had interest in this coach, but we put the $$$$$$ first.

Unfortunately the remans are 20-24,000 for the engine alone. Then I would have to get it in the coach and configured for a Prevost Coach. I have priced it at two different shops and both quote $28,000 to $35,000 for the complete job. That’s really more than I have to spend right now. The reman has a two year warranty and the repair has a 1 year warranty.
As to DD, I’ll see if I can find out who to contact. Always worth a try, but a long shot with an eight year old engine with 100,000 on it. The shop said the damage is what they see with loss of coolant additives over time yielding cavitation etc. The records I have do show the owner changed the coolant at appropriate intervals. I don’t know if he tested his coolant between changes to make sure it was up to snuff.
More to come.

Jon, I thought you were going to take that phone to Verizon for an upgrade.

all true, Jon, and why we pulled the trigger on new electronics and soft stuff last year. Our paint is still beautiful, even with a few scratches, but I’ll think about that in the future too. You helped me do all of the undercarriage items last year, so I feel like we are sitting pretty.
One other thing I’ll add: my 2004/2014 is going to be hard to get rid of not only because the bugs are gone and everything I care about is updated, but I don’t want to deal with an EGR or DEF on an even newer coach. Perhaps one day we will go bigger with an H, but not sure… If we can keep living with size constraints I’d rather gut and redo mine, knowing it’ll never be worth what I pay.

I don’t think the inverters used by Liberty had the ability to do an autostart or start on power interruption.
I don’t know why a commercially available generator start device would not have been used.

We are sorry to see you step away from the coach and will miss you both at rallies. You might get withdrawal and be on the hunt for another bus.

When I did my 365 conversion last June, I couldn’t find any Dura-Brite, had to go with polished. I also purchased from Buy Truck Wheels and the Alcoa number was 803600, outside polished.
Also, check the tire availability, you may have a tough time finding them. Jeff at East Tennessee Luxury Coach has a local supplier.
