It looks like a nice coach. We didn’t go out to Rockwall last week when we were up in the Ft Worth area to look at some coaches at Marathon and Trawick. When Trawick gets his H3 back (the owner had it in Tulsa), we may stop by to look at this one also. I was wondering if it has Prevost slides. I heard Prevost slides does not have a flush floor inside, and this one does. Also they don’t show exterior pictures with the slides out–makes me wonder why. I noticed lots of shiny tire treatment on the tires–Michelin does not recommend any tire treatment. It has the Corvette tail lights and the fender flares, I heard it referred to as the hot rod package. It is at the very top of our budget, so we would like to get a coach closer to our desired budget, but we’ll probably go up the the metroplex in the next month, so we can check it out. Probably not the coach for us, but if we see it before you do, I can post a report on here.

Ours is a 2003 Marathon XLii non-slide but we have been happy with the coach, its design, and the systems. Marathon offers great tech support well beyond the first owner. I don’t know a thing about this coach but would buy another Marathon. Hope this helps.

I agree with the comments on Marathon. We toured the factory two months ago, and was impressed with how they build coaches. Marathon is our favorite conversion out of the coaches we have looked at, and we are just waiting on the right one–once we sell ours, that is!

Tim, unfortunately it appears the coach has been sold. It is my understanding that a deposit has been placed on the coach and it goes to Prevost Dallas tomorrow for a mechanical inspection. It seems that lately, for us anyway that when something like this comes along that we like, it doesn’t last long on the market. This is the forth coach we have been interested in and had sold before we cold do anything 🙂 The search goes on…

    Thanks Per & Ron,

Yep … guess the search will go on, but thanks for the information since we couldn’t get out there till October anyway.

This is free advice…………Remember a previous post when I pointed out there is a gaping hole in the range and number of coaches available due to the severe downturn in the economy.

In some cases that means buyers are digging deep into their wallets and buying relatively new coaches, but since production is still much less than in the years prior to the economic downturn, the only other option to snatching up a coach as soon as it hits the market is to seek out good older coaches.

I don’t think there are anymore bargains to be had. Potential buyers are and have been looking and the bottom line is if a coach is good, and its price is anywhere near reasonable it goes in a hurry. The final option is to find a not so good coach which may sit on the market for a little longer, and negotiate a price that will reflect what is needed to refresh it. That’s a little risky, but it has become a seller’s market and it may be the only option for some buyers.

Remember this free advice is worth every cent you paid for it.

I have a 2002 Prevost H345 listed for sale, it is a No Disappointment coach, over 100k in upgrades. Let me know if you want to talk.

    G&P,

Where is it listed? Would like to see some pics and the converter/specs on the coach.

And, I’m not opposed to the option Jon suggests: The final option is to find a not so good coach which may sit on the market for a little longer, and negotiate a price that will reflect what is needed to refresh it.”

    Greg, is this the one?

Looks like a beautiful coach. Does it have a stacked washer/dryer, and a private toilet?

Probably would be above our budget.

    Jon is very right

The new to us coach we just bought, was a quick decision. A friend called us from Marathon two Sunday’s ago.

he told us we needed to act fast, that this was one special clean well pampered coach. We began the dialog with Marathon within a day, made an offer2 days later, and was accepted. Then we drove 2600 round trip miles last week to see it. Scoped it out, had local Detroit shop do a pre purchase inspection, put on a rack, read DDEC, had them print out the ECM’s daily report back a year. Gave Marathon a short list of “to-do’s, drove home. Today service mgr at Marathon called to say bus is ready. Now planning, when we leave to fetch the new bus. Take delivery next Tuesday. We have never acted so fast, our heads are numb. Exciting, to say the least. To keep focus, we have been prepping the Beaver Bus for selling. It appears from conversations with our sales guy, three other parties had interest in this coach, but we put the $$$$$$ first.

I also agree with Jon. It appears that the market is getting stronger and decent, reasonably priced coaches are selling faster. I have noticed the market changes since I started my search in January 2014.

If you are going to finance the purchase, I think it is a huge advantage to have the financing in place, and ready to fund. I had used a bus loan broker (Voyager) and I encouraged the sellers of coaches I was interested in to contact him to verify avaiilable purchasing power. Many sellers, particularly dealers, are weary of “lookie loos” who dream about a bus but are unable to purchase a bus. I think it helps in negotiations to establish that you are a “real buyer.”

Since the market is getting stronger, I floated the idea of listing my coach for sale…maybe we could make a tidy profit! That provoked a scowl and a bitch-slap. That idea has been tabled.

    Colt,

When I left Jeff’s yesterday there was a For Sale sign on your bus with a notation, “owned by senior, willing to finance.”
