  • Alcoa P/N for 365 Retrofit

Posted by Matthew on June 3, 2015 at 1:08 pm

    Afternoon all,

Prevost is out of the Dura-Bright wheels, and I have an appointment Tuesday morning to have my steer axle retrofitted. I have called Elgin to get the correct part numbers and have a verified that they stock two part numbers; 650443, polished outside and 650662, dura-bright polish outside. One of the reasons I was retrofitting the coach was to get the newer style dura-bright wheels.

Considering Prevost cannot supply them to me I am now looking for other vendors, which brings me to my issue, and hopefully something you all can help me with; What is the Alcoa P/N for the Wheel, I know it is size 22.5 X 10.5, but thats where my knowledge ends. If someone knows the number off the top of the head, or can look at a rim that would be great, my window to ship them is closing.

I think you might find that Alcoa doesn’t make the wheels for the 365 tires (10.5″ wheel) for a stud piloted mounting system.

I understand anyone wanting the 365 upgraded tires on the older coaches with stud piloted mounting will have to change the lug bolts to the newer hub piloted mounting system.

Hopefully someone will comment on this that knows for sure.

I was aware that I would not be able to find a stud-piloted wheels, thanks though.

On another note after speaking with engineering at Alcoa I was able to find the part number, 803601DB. Prevost only wants 6.6 hrs to swap the studs and mount and balance the wheels. Sourceing my own parts I stand to save $1,2000! thats two tanks of fuel, haha.

Great, hope it all turns out.

I have wondered about the Dura Brite wheels and was wondering if Prevost is using them now.

I got away with only 3.4 hours on my front changeover at Prevost, but that was in 2010 and labor time has probably been affected by inflation since then!!

Without wheel covers, my part #’s were as follows:

    20434082 wheel nuts 20

    611207 studs 20

    650439 tires 2

    650443 wheels, outside polished 2

probably prevost part #’s Also, bear in mind mine is an XLV.

    UPDATE,

FMCA Michelin Advantage Program has the XZA 365/70R22.5 (MSPN 52215) for $656.25 each, and

BuyTruckWheels.com has the wheels for $5790 plus free shipping and no tax, if out of Ohio, bringing my total savings vers having Prevost do the retrofit “turn-key” $1,951.68. Thats a little over half the cost to retrofit the tag, so I will have to do that now!

When I did my 365 conversion last June, I couldn’t find any Dura-Brite, had to go with polished. I also purchased from Buy Truck Wheels and the Alcoa number was 803600, outside polished.

Also, check the tire availability, you may have a tough time finding them. Jeff at East Tennessee Luxury Coach has a local supplier.
