What makes you think I won’t have another rivetmobile?

Do it yourself Bill, the Truck Washes will cause you pain with acid, high pressure washers, grease and oil soaked brushes. Take it over to KC, Al probably has a heated bay for you.

Make sure you have enough room for a true sofa bed. We looked at them and did not think they’d fit in a coach without slides. They are supposed to be more comfortable. Another option might be to use one of the gel foam pads when sleeping.

We decided to upholster our jacknife couch. We should get the last piece (the jacknife part) tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

It has been one of the more frustrating upgrades. I did manage to get the large corner piece out through the door after removing trim on both sides. It took 12 weeks for the upholsterer to get it done the first time. Then it had to be redone because the upholsterer did not test the couch in the sitting position. There was a 2 inch gap between the backrest and seating cushions.

On the bright side I did have plenty of time to replace the worn roller bearing slides for both couch drawers and clean the area really well with the couch removed.

    Petar,

I’m going by memory, but I am pretty close. The Prevost shop manuals that you might be able to get information for your vintage has the exact specification: http://prevostparts.volvo.com/technicalpublications/en/manuel.asp

I think the dimension called for is 11.25″ between the top and bottom air bag mounting plates at road or driving height. I used a flat floor in my garage and measured about 11″ from the bottom of the bay doors to the floor. Getting it exact and repeatable is an exercise in futility so I was happy if it got close every time.

It is my strong opinion to NOT drive the coach with the suspension set higher. The specified height is the center of the low and high extremes and it provides needed suspension travel in both directions for various road conditions. If you raise it up I don’t think you protect anything, and in fact may expose some low hanging components to damage unless you are going over boulders in which case a bus with a long wheelbase that can be high centered may not be the best choice of vehicle.

If you are wondering what is behind the panels, here is what was behind ours. Just remember that Prevost had already repaired these panels after delivery to Royale. It looks to me that they just squirted epoxy behind the panels. We did find over 80 holes that they used for their clamp fixture that were not filled, so I believe water intrusion may have caused some of the delamination.

Someone said that Prevost should be held responsble, well I think the broker-dealer is just as guilty. They show all those pictures of the engine, bays, galley, restroom, but nothing is said about the S/S panels. They all know about the delamination, and they kn ow how to tap the panels too. Just call one up and ask about the bus he is trying to sell you, are the panels are loose or have been fixed? I doubt that you can get a streight answer that you will gamble $ 40-50,000 on.

I do happen to have this installed in our coach, too. I installed the booster to improve on my cell phone reception in marginal areas. However, I can not see any improvement over the reception without this booster. Perhaps, I have been travelling in areas where the reception is good, anyways.

For the money and for improving Internet reception, a good WiFi antenna is the easiest, fastest and cheapest solution. IMHO.

Yes. A transmitter has less value to me now that I don’t own a plane. It has value in finding air leaks in door seals, but probably not in the case of owners of coaches with OTR. Open the fresh air intake on an OTR coach, start up the coach and the AC and use soapy water to see all the bubbles where air is leaking out, including the door seals and roof.

But the detector is a valuable tool.

    Hi Chuck,

I like the setup. How tall is the trailer? It looks taller than the H3. I am trying to decide now about a trailer so I can tke the Jeep and a golf cart.
