A lot of ladies drive coaches, with and without their husbands on board. In a few cases the ladies are the primary drivers. There is no reason why they can’t or shouldn’t drive the bus if they want to.
The flip side of that is if they do not want to drive the coach, don’t force the issue. My wife wants nothing to do with driving it. She drove our first coach for a while, did a great job, but she just does not like driving and has no intention of doing any bus driving.
Your hitch is likely rated at 10,000 towing capacity and 1000 lbs. tongue weight 8″ from the bumper (verify that). I have towed various weight cars as well as trailers. As long as you are within the hitch lmits you are going to be OK. You just need to realize that as the weight increases it has a negative impact on your coach. The weight you tow affects your stopping distance unless it is equipped with a good brake system and it surely affects your ability to climb hills and your fuel mileage. But as near as I can determine from my experience your speed has a greater impact on stopping and fuel mileage so we all just have to pick what we are comfortable with and enjoy our coaches.

Progressive may or may not have the knowledge required to insure our coaches. I don’t know. Unlike a conventional motorhome we actually insure two products when we insure our coaches. We are insuring a Prevost chassis into which our converter has built a home. I doubt if most insurance companies understand the same company that can sell and replace new bay doors or front cap, cannot sell and replace new cabinetry or a sophisticated entertainment center, all of which can be damaged at the same time. I would need a good agent who knows RVs and specifically bus conversions sort out which insurance company knows the distinction.
The last thing I would want is to see my coach on a hook heading for the closest Camping World repair facility, yet that is exactly what could happen if the insurance company does not understand our coaches.

I bought a digital converter from Best Buy that work great. Has its own remote though so I don’t know how you could tie it into the crestron system. It is IR though so you could tape a repeater signal in front of it. I hooked my antenna cable to it first and then the output goes to my switches that you select for various incomeing signals.

Copper is not something to worry about with 2 year old oil that comes from the additives, iron maybe a problem but II question the oil cooler theroy, the air compressor is a good source of iron on a low mileage engine
Change the oil before the dyno you also need to pull samples on the cooling system and differental, hard to believe no one changed the oil in 2 years even if not used let us know what engine the 60 series of the 90’s can have a few problems if all the updates were not done
good luck

Took the prevost for a ride across America on June 20 Returned on Oct 28 upon our return found one of my Battery tenders and a fairly new (1.5 years old) motorcycle battery toast. I know warrenty is only good for 1 year but I usually get several (3,to,5,) years out of them.

I recently had a problem with the leveling system not working when the travel switch was turned on. The culprit turned out to be a bendix 75 PSI safety solenoid valve located adjacent to the small air water filter in the lower compartment below the driver side. There was no air going to the rear 5 way leveling valve. We bypassed the safety valve and pressure was restored. The valve was then removed and replaced with a new 75 PSI Bendix valve and we were under way.
This all occured at a service being done at Kevin Erions’ shop. Kevin solved this problem by studying the air schemaics and found the little known valve in the system. The valve is there to protect the main brake system in case of a leveling system air failure. Kevin recently steered his efforts toward Bus repairs. He just completed installing new air bags, new air valves, new batteries, new Magnum Inverter chargers and other items on a list we and he developed to bring our 13 year old coach up to date in those areas. When I heard Kevin was in this business I had no hesitation in leaving our coach with him knowing his reputation of doing excellent work. He performed all items flawlessly for us. He is a great future asset to us all left coast bus owners and those everywhere seeking excellent and reasonable priced work on their coaches. Give Kevin a call @ (714) 342-8588Harry

We used a converted GM 4106 for 17 years that required straight 40 weight. Rotella was at every truck stop, but in 15/40 and 30, not 40. I bought cases of Delo 400 and always carried with me. You know how those old 8v71’s liked oil. I miss that two-stroke sound though- nothing like ’em. Paul.
