The XZA-1 is all position and the XZA-2 is for steer. I have always bought the XZA-2’s for all positions.
XZA-1 Even-wearing all-position tire optimized for heavy axle loads in highway & limited regional service.
XZA-2 Fuel-efficient, all-position radial designed for long life in highway steer axle service.

Depending how they are plumbed, they could run off of the coach air system or aux air. Mine is converter installed and runs off the aux air side. 120 psi is usually the max. They will sound on less, but will usually sound weird when not over 90 psi. Doesn’t matter which air system they run off of, they work the same.

Tom,
You are too generous. Seems like every time the coach is preped for washing, there are more areas to work out swirls and scratches. I am the type of guy who can park my car in a 49 acre field with no one around and still end up with dings and scratches. Same goes for the bus. Having the sun and/or lighting just right plays a big role in polishing stainless.

Thanks for making my point for me. You just proved how easy it is to become distracted and that despite knowing the traffic alerts are false you still look down at the instrument.
Don’t kid yourself in thinking you will not be looking at your intake manifold temperature, despite knowing there is not a damn thing you can do about it while driving.

Gerald,
Go to Advanced:ParameterEditor:IntakeManifoldTemp and check to see what the PID is set to. It’s probably set to 105. Change the PID for this parameter to 172. Also, under Advanced:EngineType make sure you selected DetroitDieselSeries60_500HP.

Jon, I took it in because the bus failed to raise and had to do it manualy. Just told them to replace anything else that looked suspect. They also performed 4 recall notices that had never been done. They also changed trans fluid since coach had 63,000 miles on it. Had one shock leaking and they were going to replace it. Told um do um all. They got coach to rise on start and parked it out back and plugged in. Tech went out next morning and service manager called and said in leaked down on one side overnight. They kept it another 2 days and said it was ready. I will stay with it next time and see how it goes. If I had a way to get it off the ground and blocked, I would look at it myself. Will get a setup so I can get under next time safely.
Thanks for the info.

As a follow up, after nearly three weeks the bus has no leans and brake pressure is a bit over 80 psi…this without the engine running for the entire tiem. I think we can call this operation a sucess! You too can do it!!

Truck……good to have a list so that you could go to Napa and just get one of each, thanks , but are those the same for the vaunted 8V92T of which I have a nice one?

At least I haven’t had mine burn, yet! I’m a ‘glass is half full kinda guy.

Joel, I should probably play the lottery. I have either been incredibly lucky, or you have been incredibly unlucky. I have had my share of problems but none have been leaks on the alternator.

MemberJanuary 1, 2013 at 7:43 am in reply to: Voltage Regulator and Geny Battery Isolatorwith 12.89 volts in the gen battery, it should fire right up. Does
it attempt to turn over or are you getting nothing? I’m not familiar
with the gen setup on your vintage. If there is no attempt to even
turn over, then you have an electrical glitch somewhere. I assume the
start function at the gen is on and ready for action. Boater Al has a
Marathon and his setup may be the same, even though it’s an XL2.The LBCO, low battery cut-off should not be happening if the
auto-start parameters are set correctly and the gen is functioning. If the gen won’t start manually, none of this matters. You’ll have
to get the gen running manually before you can make any anto-start
adjustments. Not knowing what inverters you have, most are adjustable for
either percentage of discharge or a specific voltage such a12v to
start the auto-start. Marathon may have a default setting that can’t
be changed, usually too low in my opinion and the LBCO will be lower
than that value. -
Use the negative,to play around with, it will be less dramatic in the case of a woups.
