Chuck,
We were fortunate enough to have attended one of the seminars at ETLC last year. I would highly recommend
it to everyone. I have many of Jon’s articles printed and would be lost without them.
My biggest problem is I know what I don’t know.
Thanks for the reply.

GIGO – Garbage in, garbage out.
I corrected the China lat/long errors, I didn’t see it because I have no interest in looking at campgrounds in China and focus on the US and Canada.
Don’t know what happened with your campground entry, you could try again.

Without a doubt Bob can turn the coach into a jewell. But with the market for used coaches of that vintage where it is, I think the cost to restore it will exceed the market value and therapy might be needed when the homebuilder realizes what he got himself into.

It’s a hose reel weekend!
Our HR is acting crazy.
Ours went out and when we put it in the off position it just keeps winding in until it pops breaker 39.
So so now Butch has to manually pull it and I have to push the breaker for it to come in the push the breaker again when yells STOP!
We are super worried the storage facility valet won’t be as saavy and walk away.
I thought i was was coming here to find the fix.

I own a jimglo trailer and agree it is one of the easiest to load and unload. However, it still is a PIA. Flat tow is the way to go for me.

Diane,
Yes I agree I could have opted for just the lens but thank goodness I waited until I went to see Rod. The bracket behind the camera was all rusted. Also the updated camera really does look amazing and the night vision is much better than the old one.

There is a chance that you only have one of your water heaters working. I would pull the cover on the units with power off..Then check for voltage at each unit, and test the heat element. If your units thermastats are adjustable it will be behind that cover as well.

Welcome Andy and thanks for sharing your video with Prevost Community.
For those unaware Andy and I communicated a while back when he was beginning to get into his adventure. It is great to see things coming together. Take the time to see the entire video. And Andy, keep posting links to them here on this site because they are very informative and well done.
To answer your question regarding new or used, the answer is dependent on a lot of things. First obviously is your budget. As a first coach I am not sure designing your coach, or even selecting layouts or features would be the best choice because a coach is so much more than selecting fabrics and colors. A used coach well within your budget enables you to get some hands on experience that allows you to learn what you like and need based on how you use the coach. Then if you have the desire you can step up to a new one with a clear understanding of what works best for you.
I am sure our members can help by offering their view on this.

I have had the 24v sides of my chassis and house batts hooked together for years so they charge and discharge together. Offhand, I can’t remember where I tied them together but it wasn’t tough. This should start the coach assuming the 12v output side of the chassis batts aren’t completely dead. I would also think a big rig tow truck would be able to jump. Let me know if you want me to go to my coach and see how it’s wired together.

I cracked up reading the first post about the “Obama engine”
On December 21, 2000 the US EPA signed emission standards for model year 2007 and later heavy-duty highway engines.
I’m sure it was meant as a joke since we don’t do political stuff here.

Buddy,
I tried to get a pic of the “Before” but the service guy had the old removed and tossed before I could get out and stap a photo. But the issue I think is that the handle was put together with some inferior type of rivet or weld that does not hold up. Over the years, it fails. Or that’s how I understood it. I’m a computer guy, not a repair guy so I may be totally off base. (in my work terms, the code broke!)

The issue the original poster was discussing was the later iteration to try to make the Cruisair Units more efficient by having AAP modify the condensers into a “pallet” system for installation in the bay and the condenser coils on the roof with axial fans cooling them. This was all still technically a “cruisair” system. It seemed a good idea except for the extremely excessive copper tubing runs that ended up resulting from this arrangement into 3 separate components versus the normal outside and inside unit design we are all familiar with from our homes.
By this time, SCS-Fridgette, the company that made the RVAC two-ton basement unit had gone out of business, so these systems were no longer available, forcing Vantare to use 4 cruisairs or go with roof top units (which they were hesitant to do on H models for fear customers would shy away due to being at or near the legal height limit). We ourselves only started installing roof a/c’s on H’s in model year late2006-2007. Coleman was just getting started with their 27kbtu all-outdoor unit and only Winnebago, Fleetwood, Legendary, and the “L-series” Country Coach utilized them. Featherlite Vantare did not even consider using them.
For most Vantare H3 models with an RVAC, the two most economical options for a failed unit is to replace all the components in the existing RVAC, or fitting in the Coleman basement unit, and redoing the ductwork as necessary. (The are not direct “drop-ins” but work). At Parliament, we have done both. Some early models of H3 with slideouts cannot physically take the slightly larger Coleman unit.
As for the other comment about bus air and Vantare coaches, Prevost did not offer and H3-45 VIP without OTR until late 2002, at the same time the headlights and cap changed to 2-piece windshield. Before that, every H3 had OTR a/c regardless of who converted the coach. After that point, most converters elected to order the shell without OTR A/C for the extra bay space and reduced shell weight. Liberty was the one that consistantly continued to order their coaches with OTR, Vantare would order the shell with IF the customer was custom-ordering one and insisted on having it. Just a little history lol.
