So, finally making our first Long Distance Trip with the new Jeep GC. 600 miles in and so far so good (knock on wood). Only issue so far is the suspension has raised to full up all by itself a couple of times. I have double checked and the suspension auto Entry/exit is turned off. Not sure why this is happening.

Have you checked your air filter? Might be “all filled up”.

I just replaced a lot of batteries on the bus (chassis and generator) and nobody wants the old ones because the demand for lead is way down.

Used to be they had scrap value. Not now.

I just had my refrigerator replaced. The RV repair shop had to remove the front windshield. They called and asked if I wanted the drivers side replaced since it has a crack. Their quote was $1,200, so I declined.

I called Prevost Hayward service center for a quote, and they came back at $7500, which I thought was a good price compared to the RV shop. After reading this thread, it sounds like I need to do a little more shopping around.

In researching further it seems that the overload is activated by heat but not necessarily from direct heat from the compressor. It has an element that heats up when power passes through it and opens the relay when the compressor draws more amps than the overload is rated for. Some sources say it can also open from direct heat from the motor or a hot connection. I didnt want to misinform anyone and im very surprised that i have not been corrected.

I just had a Cruisair acting the same way. The compressor started and ran for about 10 seconds and then kicked out. The amp draw was in range at about 12.5. I had my Hvac guy check the charge and he determined the charge was good. His recommendation was that the compressor was bad and should be changed. I started looking for a compressor and found they they are not available until October. During my internet search the overload relay for the compressor kept popping up. I decided to check it and found that it was bad. I changed it and all is good now. The overload relay is located on the bottom of the compressor under a little housing. I called my Hvac guy to tell him that i found the problem and well to gloat a little. He said hmm those never go bad. If your amp draw is within range it is likely that your compressor is fine. Jeff

High pressure Jim, I got that on almost every bus I owned, not enough cooling air. Common problem while on the road and running a cruiseair in 90+ temps. Had it happen several times even in a campground with high temps, had to spray water under the unit to keep it from high pressure failure.

Didn’t even have to look twice to know EXACTLY where that picture was taken! One of our favorite camping places in the US (and by far my most favorite in CA)!

We have many pictures with similar views from that same place. Being in ND for the Winter and seeing that makes me want to cry!

Where you might get in trouble is having a Montana LLC (a business) own your coach while your driver license is from another state. You may have to figure out the story you are going to tell a cop to explain why you are driving a business owned coach, and for what

Show me traffic code from any state that says it’s a violation for me to have a Georgia license and driving my bus with a Montana LLC tag that is properly licensed and insured and operating in a non commercial basis?

I’m well aware of all the tax evasion warnings and horror stories, but what state has actual violation codes that apply. FWIW, I have a CDL and my coach is licensed in Florida at the moment.

Jim, I may be way off base but check your brake lights. The dash light could be connected with the brake light when activated. The retarder light can be disconnected from the brake light. I met you at Mr Olivers RV years ago when you were shopping for a Prevost. Darrell
