There is a chance that you only have one of your water heaters working. I would pull the cover on the units with power off..Then check for voltage at each unit, and test the heat element. If your units thermastats are adjustable it will be behind that cover as well.

I agree with Jeff, you may only have one working. We’ve never run out of hot water even with back to back showers and you know how the ladies like those Hollywoood showers.

Turns out Jeff was right. I opened up the el connection panels, and it turned out the reset switch on the top unit had popped. Running a test right now, but now I have AC flowing to the bottom unit.

BTW, the top unit has a thermostat. It was set to 125–I upped it to about 140, we like our water hot!

I was having trouble with my water heater reset being tripped a while back. The short story is it turned out the motor aide loop had two busted solenoid valves that was allowing 200 degree engine coolant to heat the water in the water heater to 200 degrees. My over temp reset trips at 190.

So when I stopped driving, I had hot water. When the water in the water heater cooled off, I could not use the electric heat to warm up the water due to the over temp thermostat being tripped. I hope your problem is just a weak over temp thermostat.

Michael, we’ll have to see how it works on the next trip. When we stopped on the last trip, the hot water was not overly hot. Electronics tend to be temperamental, but if keeps happening, I’ll look into your suggestion.

P.S. You should post a picture of your coach; I’ve seen some beautiful CC conversion of your vintage, such as the one we saw in June last year at GSR in Reno.
