You have what … 1,400 miles of range. You can travel to “safe zones” better and safer than 99.99% of the general population.

I asked Jeff that very question when I was up there last month. He said leaving the bus at drive height while in storage is perfectly fine.

Avoid watching the national or local news. I know quite a lot of people that work in the medical field including physicians and microbiologists that state we should be far more concerned about the Flu. This is being blown way out of proportion to the Flu that kills 25K to 30K people a year in the U.S.

    Get an annual Flu shot.

I’m with you Jon… I mean I want to be with you and Di… Can Dee and I come up there? We will help you re-tape and everything. Maybe then I’ll not have to talk to my kids. They keep offering me a Corona and I know it’s not the beer!

PS. Thanks for a voice of reason Jon.

If you place your level low control in the manual position air that would ordinarily pass through the ride height valve, either to fill or exhaust is blocked.

If you have air escaping from ride height valves when in the manual position something is wrong. Has anyone replaced Norgren valves?

    Dick,

You said the alternator would not charge the house batteries, which tells me two things.

First it tells me your chassis batteries had enough power to start the coach. The alternator gets power to the field through the chassis batteries so once it is running the alternator is functioning.

The second thing is on your coach which I believe has a single 50DN feeding house and chassis through the isolator, so it should be feeding current to the house batteries, yet you are saying that did not happen. Why? If the batteries would receive power from a battery charger, why not the alternator?

The “new” clutch functions exactly the same as the original.

I’m not suggesting you stare at the temp gauge but the only way I can think of the temp to not cycle is if the fan clutch is locked as it is on driver air coaches, and in that case the engne thermostat controls the temp, usually a lot lower than when the driver’s air is off and the fan is allowed to cycle

Hi Don, I have a feeling that may be the answer. Probably an expensive answer, but the answer non the less. Thanks for your feedback. If anyone else has an idea I’d like to hear it?

I just got done cleaning, inspecting, and adjusting all 6 brakes on my bus. On the drive axle, I pulled the axles out, removed the drums, hubs, and replaced the inner hub seals. Passenger side was starting to leak. I cleaned and painted everything. On the tag and steer axles, I inspected the pads, removed the slide pins, cleaned them, lubed them and their bushings. While I had the wheels off, I cleaned the inside of each.

To lube the disc brake calipers properly, they must be unadjusted, greased, then readjusted. Just pumping grease into the calipers can BURN things up.

Over greasing the drum brakes risks getting grease on your brake shoes(not good)

Below are the Meritor mx manuals links that describe the proper way to lube the drum and disc brakes, how to check then adjust the slack adjusters so the brakes work properly.

I think you touched on the important thing regarding this.. Battery capacity. Mine is a 96 Country Coach conversion and we regularly spend the night with Webasto, Fridge, and even festivities from the night before (TV, cooking, etc) without any regard to running the generator. I’m usually plugged back in or running down the road the next day after a battery night, but Ive never seen my batteries drop more than a few volts according to the meters so far. I say just watch your gauges and use it like its designed.
