Uh, Dick, if you were an aviator that ran out of fuel are you really questioning Michael who ran out of fuel before the light came on? Really?
I think all of us have a substantial learning period associated with our coaches, and I know from experience certain things may not be consistent from coach to coach. If I did not have my fuel light come on in our secon d coach I would not have ever given any thought to a low fuel light. It never came on in my first coach, which had a stated capacity of 250 (160 main, 90 aux) even though I once added about 210 gallons.
I have had the fuel needle laying on top of the E in my current coach and had to put in 160 in a 208 gallon tank, but no light. As others said, and exactly how I tracked fuel in the plane I knew my fuel burn (in MPG in the bus) and planned to refuel at or before a self imposed limit. In my plane I carried six hours and I never was airborne greater than 4, no matter how tempting to stretch the fuel. So at 6.4 MPG in the coach I fuel at 1000 miles or less, which is less than 160 gallons out of a 208 capacity or about 30 gallons remaining assuming 90% of capacity.
Fuel gauges are nothing more than a suggestion regarding fuel on board.

I have dealt with the rubber encased threaded inserts and thread cutting or sheet metal screws on side marker lights. None of my screws have been stainless. All have had some amount of corrosion. Almost all came out, some a little more difficult than others but the ones that gave the most trouble were those in the rubber inserts and I think that is because the threaded area is brass and galvanic corrosion formed a bond between the screw and the brass insert.
It just takes patience, a few four letter words, vise grips, a good screw driver and time. I think as our coaches age we experience issues like stubborn fasteners, but keep in mind that Prevost is building for seated coach operators and in 10 or 15 years of age those coaches might likely be pulled from service. I think if the coaches were build for length of service in decades like conversions are typically seeing there would be different fasteners and finishes used.

Congradulations…nothing better then a new bus. Love the paint job.
That’s a good suggestion on weight check from Corey. In the mean time suggest 105 steer 95 drive 85 tag. cold

Jake would stop working and I would have to shut the coach off and then turn it back on to make it work again; it continued to fail every five hours or so. I made it to Marathon a couple days later and they replaced the Throttle position sensor. All is well since.
It’s disconcerting to say the least. I lost mine on CA 299 west of Redding heading to the coast.

That is the only way Buddy could get around after grazing at Jeff’s regular breakfast buffet!

We are also looking at a frig replacement. The condenser fan on our 2002 Amana decided to move south on our last trip. Then the defrost decided to try and fill the gap by remaining on all of the time. Given many of the comments above, it seems that the most humain thing to do is stick a DNR tag on it.
So now it comes to selection of the new one and I have a general question. With the Amana, we used spring loaded retainer bars in front of the shelf so that we did not have any unplesant suprizes opening the door after a long days ride. How do you deal with this issue with double door frig’s like the Kitchen Aid shown above. I guess I could get a spring loaded curtain rod…. maybe not…

John, some of my stuff for the gen is on card in slot 16, so check that card to.
What I have found to be if the switches stay green it is the fuse or a bad card.
Some of these cards have a manual reset button on the back side of the card.
I don’t remember which ones but it is a small round white button sticking out of a small metal housing. Very small.
Need any help I will go check my bus to help trouble shoot.

Jon,
Thank you for the manual, I am going to assume this is the Allison that is in my 99 coach or you would not have sent it!

My concern is making some information available that could become public.
I used to leave the phone in the bus on even when we were not driving. Not any more because of all the telemarketers. Same thing with my FAX. It has a dedicated line but I am sick of getting offers of $99 vacations, RV resorts and cheap health care. Just after the previous directory was sold to a marketer my email box was always getting offers from RV resorts.
Bottom line, I give out my business cards to people who are important to me, I don’t want the information regarding my phone numbers or email address on a list that is going to end up in the public domain and easily used for solicitations or other purposes.
If someone has the time to google every name on a forum to try to secure email addresses or phone numbers or street addresses I cannot do anything about that, just like I cannot do anything about govenment entities listing certain information on property tax rolls. But I think this goes further than just trying to eliminate a source of irritation. I also think it might be a safety issue because of how Prevost owners are perceived. I don’t want to be in a directory.
