as a fairly new owner myself, you and the Prevost Community site have been a wonderful resource. Without you the learning curve would have been steep and possibly painful.
This was our first RV purchase. Had never driven one before. So I read everything I found about Prevosts and spent 3 hours during the prepurchase inspection going over the systems. I really should have spent the 2 days you said it would take to thoroughly go through the systems. In the end I got lucky. The only real surprise was that the house batteries were bad. The engine, transmission, generator, pneumatics and Webasto turned out to be fine but I certainly did not spend enough time with them during the purchase.

Amen on the batteries.
Anytime you have unexplained inverter actions immediately rule out a bad battery because even one bad battery in a bank can screw up things. To load test however each battery has to be disconnected from one another. And if you opt to buy a load tester make certain is has sufficient capacity to test batteries typical of the size used in most conversions.
But in addition to verifying the batteries are OK, check and clean and tighten all battery cable connections as well, and do not overlook the ground connections which will also drive an inverter crazy.
If one inverter functions properly it is not likely the batteries or terminals are the problem but ruling them out is good trouble shooting practice.

I would like the answer to that one… I do however have a question… why would you turn the inverters off ?
Or are you just curious like I am now?
The house batteries do charge when going down the road when the inverters are on but not sure what happens when they are off…. the inverters pretty well control everything.
Ben Cummings would know that answer for sure.

It should be a chassie ground strap, bolted to the chassie hanging to the roadway to discharge static.

Are you sure you were with Jon? It was all going well reading about your tire kicking until I came to the part where you referred to Jon as a Techno Wizard of Cell Phones! That’s when I fell off my chair laughing so hard. This is the same guy who has 2 cans and a string in his grease pit and can barely sort out functions of his flip phone.
You must have found another Jon in your travels 🙂

Ditto what Corey said, where is it, we may be able to offer some suggestions for pre-buy help. I would not buy it sight unseen and have it delivered, you’re opening yourself up to a nightmare. Without a 3rd party PDI from someone qualified, you could be spending lots of money after the sale.
