My 04 Marathon has a crappy design fault regarding the Aux air compressor.
The compressor is located in the Generator compartment, which I generally like due to its quietness. The output of the compressor feeds into a T fitting with one side going to the Aux system and tank, and the other going to a pressure regulator that serves the generator air bags.
The fault is that the generator air bag system is fed unfiltered air. Water is the big problem here. When I picked up the coach last month, the air bags were flat and their regulator was corroded and frozen. When I pressed the air bag deflate button, water poured out. Steve (at Cal Coach) told me that some guys have experienced a complete fill up of the generator bags with water!
So, I bought a new Speedaire regulator/filter combo from Grainger and installed it. Yes, it’s a complete overkill solution for a 20psi service, but the interesting note is that I’m getting a couple of ounces of water (a full bowl) almost every day down here in the South, where I’m presently located. I’m also draining the main aux tank almost every day and it’s not quite so bad (a lot less water). There is also a speedaire filter in the steering compartment but it seems to have an auto-drain feature. I haven’t heard it work and don’t know it’s condition.
Still, I’m left wondering why Marathon didn’t setup the compressor air bags after the main filter. It would have required only about 6 feet of air line to properly install.

Nice…..congrats. We are hoping to pick up our ’05 in 3 weeks and then head to Branson to meet all of you. It will be my first Prevost rally.

Jon,
If this phase of the test could use a volunteer who will not begin fueling for a month or so, sign me up. I’ll be driving clear across the country, but not until late September. If not, I look forward to coming aboard for the next phase.

This will most likely be the last Libert Jon is allowed to own, come on, paper plates and can food. Where is the personal French chef with all the fresh food. We CC owners travel with a trailer full of cows, chickens, fish and pigs. I hear he’s is going to Maine to eat lobster, somebody let him know they don’t come in cans,,,,,,,,,,,,

Just signed up for Branson……yea!!! My first Prevost rally.

Fueled up couple of weeks ago but trip never came together.

I’ve seen Andre’s work and it looks great, although I don’t think he will ever stand up straight again after being in that bay!:) It was a perfect time for Ann to close the door…
I’m pretty sure my Liberty would need the generator removed to do the job. Anyone done that yet?

I fly a B200 King Air……….piloting a Prevost is similar……lots of systems, controls, and procedures, both expensive, but both have great history and reliability, and safe to operate when done properly.
King Air probably easier to navigate in,………..less traffic up there!
Ya’ll have fun in Oshkosh!

Allision transmits the actual gear your in. So, it can be displayed on SilverLeaf’s glass dash or their PC based product. I’m pretty sure it can also be displayed on Ray Davis’ iPad based system.

Mr. Amazon has agreed to deliver my vacuum sealer and some bags in exchange for the use of my credit card so we are good to go.
Gotta get that protective paper now.

Most coaches that I have seen are provided with quick disconnect hose fittings from the converter, and are usually only in the steer compartment, but occasionally are in the rear also.
If your converter has not provided one the best place to add one is in the steer compartment. If you have an auxiliary air tank in your steer compartment tap into that tank air line. If you have no tank easily accessed look for the fitting that Prevost tags as the converter air supply. That attach point is auxiliary air and has air system protection. If there is no tag identifying that connection point find a large auxiliary air supply line for any of the house air circuits. That is a good point to tap into for a quick connect fitting.
The thing to remember is you want to protect the integrity of the aux air supply and to make sure you tap into it downstream for any protection valves. In that way you can have a catastrophic failure of that aux circuit and you still maintain your braking systems.
If we know your converter we can get more specific as to suggestions on adding a quick connect.
I have only one, in the steer compartment on a manifold with other house circuits and I am easily able to reach all necessary points on my 45 foot coach with a 50 foot hose. I would be reluctant to add one in the rear because the heat and road grit will eventually affect the function of the quick connect.

I have changed over all the strip lights to LED and will replace others as the go out. Unless a deal comes thru. Maybe we could get a large group order with one of the companies thru PC. On a separate post list Name Type and quanity of each present it to the companies and see what happens.
