I feel your pain, mine does the same thing. You didn’t say if it was an H or XLII, mine is an XLII. I thought they fixed it with the XLII, but maybe in later models like Jon’s.

If you are saying you attempted to use 2 30A GFCI outlets to power your coach, then you shouldn’t be surprised that the GFCI breakers tripped. The coach’s common neutral is the reason why. There’s nothing wrong with the coach or commercial power. Again, I’m assuming you were trying to power the coach from two 110V GFCI protected outlets.

okay guys I was dying to know if my efforts were useless or helpful so today I decided to take the bus out to Cracker Barrel in Seffner near Lazy Days or better Tampa which is about 25 miles from my house. About 20 miles interstate! The ambient temp is 72. I ran the bus steady around 73-74 and the temps never went above 187 and that was pulling a slight incline after being slowed by a car that was crawling along. All in all it ran steady in the 184-185 range doing 72 +- and now I can at least see the temps working like they should. When I came to a stop the temps stayed a steady 180.

The funny thing is now that the radiator is sealed almost 100% it sounds differently when standing next to it while idling and Susan had an Easter dress on and kind of flowing and it sucked so much they the grill that well you can picture what happened. Yep it sucked the dress up and to the grill! I kind of knew it would and that was the reason I coaxed her to move closer.

Anyway, wasting some time here at CB because the temps are supposed to reach low 80’s and hopefully it will tell me more on the way home!

So far I’m a happy busser!

Peter I am confused, if you have the switch in the drive position how can you lower or raise the coach to anything other than the drive height?

I’m going to call it “the anonymous grey Tom Stuff”. My wife is a teacher, and she says we can spell it grey or gray without regard to whether it is dark gray or light grey, now what a relief that is!

Everyones enthusiasm for my plight is humbling. Thanks.

My 1991 H3-40 does not dump the tags when the Aux drains down. Since I have changed my air bags and Norgrens it will stay aired up for at least a week. I don’t know how long yet cause that is as long as I have left it. My Aux tank however drains quickly as I have a leak in the Level Low valves up front i have yet to address.

    Tom,

First off, what a poor decision to install a fan that is not switched in some fashion, even if that means through a thermostat! I don’t know if this is a before or after picture, but the picture doesn’t show any clamps holding the electrical wiring in place. By code, as memory serves, one is required within 6 inches of the connection and along the the cords route at an intervals I just don’t remember. There doesn’t appear to be any strain relief at the connection to the fan. If so, you need a strain relief as close to that connection as possible.

When you say hardwired to the inverter, I assume you are saying hardwired through a fuse or other circuit protecting device. If not, you need to install one as close to the AC power source as possible.

I’ve used temperture specific snap discs with relays to handle the current. Although they work fine, an easier solution might be a line voltage thermostat with or without remote temperture probe. Most, if not all, of these can handle the current without an external relay and are adjustable.

For the one in the entertainment center, I would power it from the breaker for the entertainment system, so there’s an intuitive place to shut it off. I did just that in my last coach and it worked fine.

Hot to the touch is normal ,especially on hot days. Amsoil claims a normal temp is around 203 degree’s and then goes on to explain the decrease in temperature using their product. I’m sure it all depends on weight and ambiant temperature.

How hot was it Peter? Could they just touch it and then say it’s hot? Could you leave your fingers on the hub without burning them. In other words, define “hot.”

Glen, yea it makes one wonder how many others have rolled out of there and realized after getting the bill they still had the same problem ? Kinda like those folks who voted for obama !!

I`m planning air bag replacements this year at there mercy unless someone knows a highly reputable place in NC,SC or FL? Charlotte has plenty of big rig places that do that everyday, but know of no one who have used them for prevosts.

Keep us posted of your findings.

Oops, sorry, wrong George… I thought you were here for the RV show.

Depending on your Aqua-Hot model, if you take off the cover where the Webasto is located, you will see a metal inspection plate on the side of the panel held with 2 screws. The discs are behind the cover. I don’t know the function of each disc, so you’ll have to find a manual to figure that out. Here’s a good site for Aqua-Hot repairs.

    Bill

We lived in Fairbanks for 30 years. After selling our business in 1995 we drove the “highway ” 11 times before 2011. We did not have Prevost at that time but if we ever wanted to go back we would not hesitate to drive a Prevost up the road. Of course it would be better to drive for someone if they were paying for the fuel. Any takers?

The outer frame that fits contour siding on XL on my 98 was $450plus the other two inner pieces were reasonable. From prevost.
