Jon, see my pic above. I’m installing them now on my bus. I know of which I speak(this time :-).
The tag & steer 630259(GY 1R11-244) are mae west, 10″ dia, 8″ min, and 22″ max. The drive axle 630104(GY 1R11-088) are double flare, 10″ dia, 8″ min, 18″ max.
Prevost tried to sell me double flare 630260(GY 1R11-243) bags for the front/steer. That’s what I took off the steer. They wouldn’t raise the bus above normal travel heigth. My bus only weighs 13,100 Lbs up frt so weight isn’t a problem. Thank goodness I listened to the dues paying members here instead and went with the mae west 630259. Now bus rides smoother and will raise an additional 4″ for those unlevel campsites.
Here’s an online GY catalog with all the part#(Prevost too) and specs

thanks for the inputs. I will most likely isolate the air admittance line and cap it off from below. I shall remove the T and just connect the shower p trap line to the grey tank via a 90. since there are no other lines draining on that line, i should be fine.

Ernie, following is quoted from my maintenance manual:

“When the temperature drops in condenser, the pressure drops also in refrigerant line and it is not necessary to operate the fan to refrigerate the condenser. Consequently, when the pressure drops to 90 psi, the motor is stopped by a pressure switch in order to not operate the fans unnecessarily. When the pressure comes back to 120 psi, the pressure switch reactivates the motor.”

So maybe a bad pressure switch?

we have had the same issue with our glass handles and just for future reference we tried the glue pin that cures with an ultraviolet light. Works great, is clear and no mess. Can get it at any hardware store.

Just spent a few hours last night and this morning researching dash cams. Right or wrong, bought the Magellan MiVue 420 for $140 on eBay, free shipping.

    Buddy…

Your previous comment was the basis for my question about the “central switc”… I get it and understand how it functions…. makes total sense.

    Thank you,

I think I have Meritor Rockwell type brakes. Will have to double check next time I’m under the bus.

The grease monkey (me) got a new state of the art, high-performance 20V lithium ion battery-operated grease gun. And I was not afraid to use it when I lubed the chassis. There you have it – another maintenance induced failure.

So, the low temps combined with overgreasing the caliper prevented the pads from releasing. There is just never a dull moment owning one of these beasts.

I use a Roadmaster All Terrain 10,000 lb tow bar. Since one never knows when they might change toads I bought the heaviest one available. I have been using it about 10 years. I would buy it again

George and I will be there along with many that have not braved this food fight. I will have a TP pocket square stapled to my shirt so you can recognize me. I will take you around and introduce you to some of the rest of the crazies that troll this site. I will probably get there somewhere around 10-10:30.

What about continuity between the hot/neutral and the engine ground? Was shore power plugged in when you plugged the block heater in to your shop?

Found the “leaning” problem, and it wasn’t associated with the “Big” leak I heard. It was a leaking drain valve on one of the ping or football tanks. Put a new one in, and now No leans………….for the time being.

Dan: Thanks so much for taking the time to read to the end of my lengthy post. I’m very flattered that you took the time given all the other demands on your time.

Jon: My membership is still still a bargain at 3x your recent upcharge to me. I’ll write a check on the ice and you can redeem it in the spring.

All: We started the quest that resulted in a Prevost coach looking for a truck conversion to pull the enclosed race trailer that we could live in at the race track as well as travel and “RV in”. My short list was a 35′ to 40′ 379 Peterbilt with a 500hp to 600hp CAT engine and huge chrome pipes (45′ if it had a lift-gate and “garage” for the race car integrated into the conversion). We looked at three different 379 Pete conversions that ranged from rough and tacky to great … for a bunch of guys in their 20’s and 30’s who were going dirt late model racing three nights a week. At that point the hunt went in another direction that also began with a “P” and had lots of hp.

We were on a truck conversion forum for a long time and the issue of “driver licensing” came up from time to time. Like many have said, right now the rules are pretty much based on what your state of residence says. In Wisconsin our Prevost is licensed as an RV so I don’t need a CDL to drive the coach with a toad or pull the 10,000# enclosed race trailer (which actually has a GVW of more than 10,000# and probably has weighed well over 10,000# a few times). But last week I couldn’t help my neighbor borrower his brother’s large box truck to haul a large heavy duty steel trailer and his very heavy SkyTrack from one job to another because I don’t have a CDL. Honestly the Prevost and the toad or race trailer are much more complicated and difficult to drive than the box truck, trailer, and SkyTrack.

The “RV loophole” in heavy vehicle CDL/DOT licensing has been a HUGE boon to the RV industry and the RV lifestyle. Without it I think the number of RVs sold over 26,000# would have been dramatically less.

I’m working to obtain my Class B CDL, and would like to obtain Class A. My position on this is that if I didn’t think I could pass the DOT physical, written, and driving test for a Class B … then I should not have bought the coach.

While the accidents by non-CDL licensed RV drivers appear to be somewhat limited, I think (pretty strongly) that anyone driving a motorhome of significant size (certainly over 26,000#) should be required to hold some sort of license that demonstrates his or her proficiency with a large vehicle has been judged by someone knowledgeable; like a DOT examiner. Kinda like flying an airplane.

I didn’t have the advantage of growing up on a farm or coming from a family that had large equipment, my family was in the funeral business. The first hearse I drove was a 1968 Cadillac S&S … one of the last on full commercial chassis … let me tell you I “thought” that thing was huge. But not as huge as a Prevost coach.

I’m a little suprised that during the eight years of the Obama administration it’s US DOT didn’t come through with regulations (1) creating a special CDL license for RV’ers to obtain and (2) a national requirement to hold that license if the RV is taken across state lines. Actually, unless the RV exemption over 26,000# is in statutory or case law, the US DOT probably could have eliminated the RV exemption by a regulatory change.

I don’t want to scare anyone away from buying or retaining their Prevost. If you can successfully drive your coach, you should have little or no trouble passing a CDL test … at least that is what I’m planning on.

    I’ll keep you posted.
