Ernie, following is quoted from my maintenance manual:

“When the temperature drops in condenser, the pressure drops also in refrigerant line and it is not necessary to operate the fan to refrigerate the condenser. Consequently, when the pressure drops to 90 psi, the motor is stopped by a pressure switch in order to not operate the fans unnecessarily. When the pressure comes back to 120 psi, the pressure switch reactivates the motor.”

So maybe a bad pressure switch?

Ernie, last summer I had one of the 2 silver metal solenoid/relays fail open causing the fans to not come on. Here’s a link to that thread.

If I screwed up and gave you a bad link go to the Prevost Car website and pull up the service manual for your coach and specificly the AC section. It will detail the operation of the system and help with the trouble shooting

In the curbside OTR ac condenser bay is a light gray plastic box that houses R38 & 39, and CB 8 & 9 which are 120 amp/24vdc. For CBs 8 & 9 there are two resettable red buttons protruding out of the bottom of the box. As I mentioned previously we had one of the silver solenoid/relay fail(R38 or 39). They have a limited lifespan. Easy inexpensive fix.

IMO, if one of these CBs trip, there is a something bad wrong. I hope its only a relay.

If one of the large CB’s does trip it could be an over current issue, but in the two instances where my OTR quit due to a tripped breaker the problem was the breaker was failling and just would trip because it was failing.

That photo shows the red breakers.I can now just barely see them. I pushed on them, but there was no movement.

If you are seeing fluid in the lower site glass on the receiver in the condenser bay, the red ball in there should be in the vertical middle of the glass. If the ball is at the bottom of the glass, freon is low. And condenser fans are no go. But if freon is very low, your 05G Carrier compressor will also not kick in. So since you have compressor, but no fan, you could be just low. From the manual, as noted above, we need 120 psi on the line at the pressure sensor.

It happened when I posted a link to the service manual section covering the OTR system.

The link was a long string and when I typed the reply it did not extend the box, but when I posted the reply it looked like the link was kept as a single long line.

I have to get our web guru to answer the question.
