A Marathon Slide coach has the “Jump” start button and it works as intended! Don’t ask why I know! But Marathon service recommends the Jump Start if your chassis batteries are too low.

We live about an hour or so away. I’ll probably drive up there for a day or two. I like going to the seaplane base.

    Al,

Where did you get the new headlights? Did you have to replace the lower front cap?

I have to admit Jon, I am so proud of you.

The progressive thinkers at PC (the guys who did their science projects and had their homework turned in on time) are slowly dragging you into the Twenty-First Century. And you are not kicking and screaming all that much, I am like I said, “impressed.”

Flip phones, cellphones, email, video’s … Man-man, what is next?

By the way, almost forgot. I saw a video the other day surfing the net, porn, disgusting, didn’t know people knew how do those things to each other. I am never visiting my parents website again!

Here is one for you warning some of the language is off color.

    Watch them Right-Handers,

I have a rocker switch top front right of the bay opening. It can be difficult to see if you don’t know it’s there..

I was just trying to make the point that even if there is no load it takes a certain amount of fuel just to keep the generator running, while loading it fully only adds a little more use of fuel.

To use another example our buses at idle use 1 to 2 gallons of fuel per hour. Those that are running to provide heat or AC that is a pretty big cost if the bus is not moving. Yet at highway speeds I burn 10 gallons per hour but during that hour I am recharging house and chassis batteries, moving 60 plus miles and keeping cool or warm as needed If we load up our generator, our bus engine or our power plants our efficiencies ramp way up. With respect to power plants if using Tesla house batteries and charging them when demand is low and using the battery power when the power plants are already loaded we as a nation could level the production and usage of electric and realize some serious gains in efficiency which translates into lower costs.

In my factories I paid for electric based on demand and usage. My greatest inrush of power was when big machines were started. So theoretically if at 7:00 every morning all machines were started at once the instantaneous demand was several times greater than my steady state power consumption. Imagine that demand across the country. The power generators had to have their generators on line in anticipation of that spike in consumption, and then by 7:05 the power consumption dropped down to more normal daytime levels so compare that to the cost to produce power in terms of energy for a heavily loaded system due to demand, and then to the cost of a lightly loaded system which is what the power companies have during light demand hours. I had to pay for the demand. My electric bills were based on KWH plus demand which was often 40% of my total bill.

The homeowner is not billed in that manner, but he is part of the problem. His energy use is greatest during the day when he is up and about, less when he is in bed. Reduce the rates during the hours between midnight and 6:00 AM and use those reduced rates to charge your electric car, house batteries, etc. and the loads get leveled at the power plant because people will change habits if it makes economic sense, and the power plants would have less demand loads and more steady predictable loads.

Great job….we looked pretty hard at that bus before Lon got it. sometimes think we should have moved on it. Snooze you lose. If we had, we’d be doing the same thing.

We use it about 30 times a year for weekend excursions and then take 1 or 2 more lengthy trips where we are gone at least a week.

I wish I had roof airs over cruise air. They work much better IMO.

As for OTR, I just, I just spent $4000 for a new condenser on mine. And I still love OTR air!!

The first photo shows a dark spot on the lower left corner. A lot of times, spilled fuel from filling on that side may cause that. But, I am very carefull with fueling on that side. Mine had a crack, and had lost 6 lbs of freon over the last year. I noticed the spot when cleaning that area. It was still cooling, but not quite as cool as it should have been, and I didn’t want to get to 100 degree summer time, and have a problem. So, I had Prevost Jax replace it with a new one. Paul did a great job. I had him replace two of the service valves as well, since another shop decided to use vise grips on them, instead of the proper square head wrench, when adding freon before.

I talked with John about it, who is the regional Service rep now, who was the service manager at Jax. He is easy to get a hold of now if you have any problems.

Cindy and her crew at Prevost Jax, did a great job!

As Jeff tightened up my air system, we are now chasing small little leaks. Seems the driver chair was one of them.

The lumbar bladder never actually worked, but after getting all new norgren valves installed, Josh and Dan basically cleaning the entire underside of the coach with soapy water finding new leaks that surfaced as the bigger ones were fixed, I started hearing a small hiss from the drivers seat after shut down. Turns out to be the lumbar control switch.

jeff had one in stock, I installed it this morning and seems to hold air now. Need to get jeff to check it with his super sensitive hearing device to make sure I installed it correctly and didnt create another problem 🙂
