Engine Repair Invoices and costs
I was thinking that it might be helpful for us to create a sticky or engine repair/cost thread.
At 255K I have my local Detroit Dealer (Pacific Power) roll bearings in my Series 60 12.7liter
The total cost was $1,536.00 this included all factory bearings, gaskets, oil, filters and labor ($926.00)
Money well spent, the thrust bearing/shims had wear, the rod bearings also had wear. Mains looked good.

Did they check / replace the bull gear bearing too? Usually the first to wear on an S60 in trucks.

I think your coach is pre EGR, is that correct? I’m curious how often you change oil and which brand of oil you use. My engine has about 250,000 miles. I did a visual check on a couple of rod bearings when I did the engibe swap, less than 10,000 miles ago. They looked new but now I’m thinking maybe I should Plastigauge a couple.

Thanks for compliment but the swap is not cost effective. It
would be cheaper to sell yours and buy one with a Series 60.Ken

Ken, I’m running Mobil Delvac 1300 15W40.. 50K miles…
Previous fill was Rotella.
Are you running Synthetic Rotella T6?
