That’s the same with us, You know when you look at something then you think about it. Our old Heart Interface inverters didn’t give you that much info, And I don’t think they had temperature compensation

If I were to guess, that coach is a Classic with the device by the fan clutch a 12V house alternator.

Joel – Why would you want to do that? Nothing worse than following a Motorhome with the brake lights on/off/on/off because of throttle position activating the Jake.
John – I put a floor foot button on a Foretravel I had and it worked great. Back in the day some of the big trucks had them.

Wow, that is a long run on those batteries.
Ok, I will look into the 7234, they have a higher CCA, 1150 vs 950, and hopefully I can find 4 in good conditon.
Thanks

Ok all done, it took me about 3 hrs. I did in fact find two shut-off valves, one in-line and one at the screw-on fuel filter housing like Jon said. I got a 1/2 inch galvanized nipple and a cap and used that to stop up the fuel lines after I took them off and that worked well. I got it all back together and she started right up the first time with no hesitation and no leaks! It’s always fun to get this kind of repair done for me. I fell asleep last night thinking about galvanized nipples and so that confirms it…I really am weird!
Thanks again for all the input and it really does help to have a resource like PC!

good idea Jon, thank you all for your input.

Hi Andrew,
saving your alternator is but one of the benefits of splitting your house bank into two banks, one Li and leaving at least some of your lead acid house batteries in place for the other. Using a BtoB charger will limit the amp draw the Li batteries can take from your alternator. If you want faster charging than you can get from one BtoB charger, just add a second in parallel.

Wow! That’s a great response, Andrew. Here are a few things that stood out to me:
I had overlooked the ability to configure the 230v Victron stuff to 120v/240v split-phase. Their product line makes more sense to me now.
I didn’t know you could squeeze that kind of performance out of a 50DN. I wonder if doing that and then pulling 250 amps max would make it more or less likely to fail than pulling 250 amps from its current 270 amp configuration. Being gear-driven, it is oil-cooled but very tough to access. I had planned on limiting it to maybe about 150 amps to try to avoid failure.
I plan to merge my two 12v house systems into one, and the existing battery balancing solenoid provides a perfect spot to do that. I already have two of the Victron 70 amp converters to bring the alternator output down to 12v, so I agree with that approach.
I’m keeping solar in the back of my mind, but it would have to be installed without disrupting the looks of the bus. It sounds like flexible panels aren’t ready for mainstream use yet. Am I correct that your proposed setup would allow for shore, solar, and generator use?
I appreciate your reply.

Sorry I didn’t explain better. All weather apps will show forecast for a zip or city. I’m looking for something that aggregates ideally at the national level.
That way I can say where can I go to have better weather for next few days? Yes typically Florida or Arizona have better weather on average but i’m looking for best shot for next few days in any direction.

Just purchased six golf cart batteries at our local Napa store in suburban Denver using our AITA discount. As per my conversation with Jett Kuntz from NAPA, our discount will remain active.

I found a good article on the net that jtjoint/Jerry Work wrote for BCM. Thank you Jerry. It is very helpful & educational. For others thinking about switching, here is the link: LINK

I serviced my genny today . Had a fuel leak on the feed line to filter so I replaced that . Well I still had a leak that turned out to be from the 2 nd fuel injector . Well I now think this was the leak all along . So after a couple auto parts stores I was able to find the o ring in a 5.00 Auto zone o ring package . Well all good and a new hose to boot . Let me tell you that o ring was dryed out big time . Plan to replace the other 3 after we land in Fla Sat .
