I think that depends on how the flasher is made. Back in the old days flashers used a bi-metal strip through which current to the light passed. As current heated up the metal which offered some resistance it bent and opened the circuit. Once the circuit was open, it cooled, returned to the original shape completing the circuit and started the cycle all over again. That type of flasher wouldn’t work if a bulb burned out because the current flow was not enough to heat up the bi-metal due to the design.

Later flashers worked regardless of if the bulbs were all working or not.

Now with so many electronic circuits we use things like multiplex to control a lot. For our coaches the multiplex system would see the use of LED lights with their low current draw to be a problem, such as a burned out bulb.

So the answer is what kind of flasher is being used?

We have five clearance/turn signals on each side of our coach. I bought LED replacement lamp fixtures from Bill Puleo from the Chrome Depot. I was a little concerned about the LED having enough amp draw, but they work fine. In fact I am very, very happy with them. Get them from Bill for your coach! Great replacement.

Blinker Light problems are often traced back to using inappropriate blinker fluid when a problem crops up. Its my understand the following are used with pretty good results. I haven’t had problems related to blinker fluid in our Liberty Coach, so I don’t have experience with any of the products. Its my understanding that like the Rose Pedals for the dump valves, Liberty uses lifetime, forever blinker fluid.

I all ready have side clearance replaced with LED it was done when I bought it almost 5 years ago, I have LED’s in the whole bus engine bay all compartments that old school 120v light over table, between new energy efficient refrigerator and LED’s it has made dry camping much easier. One of these days I want to replace the old solar panels on roof that will help.

Art: Have solar panels gotten more efficient over the past few years? Or have they reached their top level of possible efficiency? Is there a number to quantify efficiency of solar panels?

Not sure but the ones on bus look old,not sure when they were installed. I like Zamp for rv’s
