A trick i learned with my bus, is for the 4 body points, i use the airbags to lift the body up to full extension, then i have four 14″ square 3/8″ thick steel plates plus the red and black jack stands are just the right height. I only use my air over hydraulic when i need to lift the drive axle to pull the drives off. my front axle, i use a 4 ton floor jack. My bus is up on the 4 body stands now while i do all this work underneath and in the engine bay.

It’s been almost 9 yrs and 43+k miles since I changed the rear differential gear oil. Last time I used 4.5.gals of Amsoil synthetic severe gear 75w-90. Cost was $200.This time I’m using a blend of gear oil weights. 3 gals of Amsoil Long Life synthetic 75w-90, and 1.5 gals of Amsoil severe gear 75w-110. Cost $310Took a sample for analysis too. Old oil looked pretty clean.I changed the air dryer filter and lubed everything in the rear too.Drain and fill plugs are hex size 1 1/16″

Heavy Corrosion around the ECM, I broke every bolt removing it, today i removed the last broken stud. The cooling plate had 80″ thick corrosion in between the top of the ECM and the bottom of the cooling plate. Fun Times!

Great job Mike! Can you tell us about the blue paint? It has a very velvety finish. Obviously its some sort of high temp coating. I would like to know more. Thanks.

You said glass hinges to outside
Is the glass actually fitting to a frame on the inside of the window frame?

Dick: With high ambient temps (90F+++), pulling about 70,000# gross, and traveling at 75mph, I have no problem reaching an indicated 250F in about an hour or two of driving. Temps will continue upward unless I make a pit stop or I can keep them at 250F by reducing speed by 5-7mph.
I added the diff temp gauge to my coach because my 1990 came equipped with one and I realized how important it is under certain conditions.
I change my synthetic diff fluid every 30,000 miles. I went to 50k once and when I pulled the drain plug, nothing came out. Had to stick my finger in to break up the clump of powdered iron blocking the drain.

AGM batteries should need no venting. If AGM or Gel Cell batteries vent it is because they have failed, and the tip off is the rotten egg smell. Same with LiFePo4 batteries.
Lead acid batteries need to be in a vented enclosure.

I have this unit for sale. It was installed on our 2016 Liberty. I would install on my new Liberty, but the bus needs a different module. The old Liberty with the Steinbauer installed had more pep than new Liberty. For sale $1,5000.
Happy Day!!!

Alex, there are several “lane shifts” between Loveland and Ft Collins with tight bends as you are directed by jersey walls. Some of the lane shifts involve pavement changes that they really havent created good transitions, so slow speed less than 40 naybe required. Best to drive it in daylight. We last drove the area at 9:30 at night September 6th. Having not intended driving 600 miles that day, but family medical issue prevented us from spending nite in S Wyoming. It was more tedious being tired

I think Les Stallings put one in his coach. Maybe he’ll see your post and mention what he did. Maybe he made a post of the details.

It can be welded with Nickel 99 rod, but probably cheaper to replace the manifold.

My Prevost (unit# S-5665) mx manual, sec.22, p.402 of 466, high discharge pressure, states the following as possible causes:
1) air or non-condensable gases in the condenser; 2) overcharge; 3) dirty condenser; 4) insufficient cooling air over the condenser. In case your high is too high?
