Bus Support?
Posted by DON on November 4, 2022 at 8:19 pmHere’s my bus support stuff to safely work underneath it. I only work on one end at a time and could get away with 2 fewer jacks.

A trick i learned with my bus, is for the 4 body points, i use the airbags to lift the body up to full extension, then i have four 14″ square 3/8″ thick steel plates plus the red and black jack stands are just the right height. I only use my air over hydraulic when i need to lift the drive axle to pull the drives off. my front axle, i use a 4 ton floor jack. My bus is up on the 4 body stands now while i do all this work underneath and in the engine bay.

Hey Don! I like those jack stands, Where did you get those?

I got everything from Harbor freight.
Jack stands are 22 ton capacity each and weigh 37 Lbs each.

Learned from Prevost repair guy to air up the bags all the way, put your jack stands under the support locations, dump the airbags All The Way. Now the majority of the weight is on the jack stands and the wheels (all or any of them) can be easily lifted with even a hand pumped bottle jack.
