  • Small filter in aux air system??

Posted by Richard on October 13, 2022 at 11:57 pm

I have a small air filter in the under driver compartment I am trying to identify so I can replace it. There is another one located in the rear of the coach adjacent to the engine compartment as well.

Can anyone help me identify this filter and where I may find a couple of them please?

    Picture attached (approximately 4″ tall)

    Thanks

    Richard

They stopped making those many years ago. I replaced mine with a modern filter which you can get almost anywhere.

Thank you, with everyone’s replies, I was able to track it down to a local O’reilly’s auto parts store under a WIX #33516 cross reference from the FF244.

It says its a fuel filter?? but it looks like it. As stated in the reads, it can be washed? If so, I will try washing that old grungy one to see how it turns out for future options.

Thank you for all the replies, this is a great forum and continue to learn so much from everyone.

BTW, great articles too, I must do that to improve the operation as well as the appearance.

That second picture looks like a spool of yarn.

Well, the filter that crossed referenced to a wix was the wrong filter, it was a metal encased fuel filter. I haven’t been able to locate the right part as of yet. What is the best method for just cleaning them for now until I can figure out another option?

    Thanks

Just replace it with something modern. They are like 10-15 dollars.

Wix Aquachek ACK10 water removal kit from amazon, etc. Spin-on filter comes in various sizes. I use the smaller AC10 size.

Here a thread I did here 3 yrs ago when I installed one: /threaddetails.asp?Category=Pneumatic%3E&ThreadID=11677#90611
I also have 2 SMC water separators plumbed into my aux air system.

McMaster Carr has a ton of them, you need to see what port size you need, micron filtration level, and if you want auto drain, or manual drail, plastic vs metal. I put a plastic one in mine.
