Since I do not do any work on my coach, except wash and bulbs etc, The cost has averaged about 18,000 per year for the last four years, that does not include fuel and taxes, Last year June 13 till June 14 examples 4500.00 for Carge air cooler new hoses and EGR valve, Fan Clutch 3100.00, Slide motor controller 2100.00, New Batteries 4,000.00, 3 new lower panels on the doors, This is something all H owners should check cracks at the corners, and painting same 2900.00, New computor in fridfge 700.00 crestron repair 800.00, 2 level 3 services,2000.00 so I am a little over 20,000 for last year and the coach is at Jeffs getting some upgrades and repairs and service right now and these cost will go toward the June14- June 15 year. Every coach I have owned I want it in the best shape it can be in . Since I do not do any repair work on it I have to pay, I knew this up front when I bought, I have the pleasure of going down the road knowing I have done everything I could to keep it in top shape, You are still going to have a mishap once in a while, but that is the way it is with machinery, I drive 10,000 miles a year on average, Gary

That’s what I want too,Tom. I figure with that, a crockpot, and a convection/microwave I’ll be able to do any small amount of cooking I’ll want to do in the bus.

I saw that too, Tom, but it’s a complete system. Overkill, really.

I am trying to avoid Jon’s option, though I know it is one. I did find this.

The only time we get fresh air in the coach is after I have visited the boys room and Di shouts at me to turn on the fan.

Still can’t figure out why she does that.

Someone mentioned the Sherline trailer tongue scale in their post.

    https://www.sherlinedirect.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=13&CFID=41723915&CFTOKEN=84777660

I have one, really educated me.

If I remember correctly, the inventer created it after having a problem with his race trailer and trailer hitch.

Good company, good product, American made!

the vents under the sinks are ok. We tend to get the odor from the potty even when it holds water at normal level.

I will use your method when dumping the gray. Getting some gray up into the black to brak up waste is a great idea. As for chemicals, would the green stuff Byran mentioned have a positive or negative impact? I would think it would help when I flush the tank as we are unsure of when the last flush was. The goal is to clean up the tank, eliminate the odor but do no harm to the plumbing. We have banned any bleach or chlorine products due to post where it mentions PB fittings can fail from them.

Thanks for all the great advice.

I select recirculate on the OTR air, and I still get outside air in from somewhere. Not much, but enough to tell. Reminds me of “FLow thru ventalation” on some of the older cars.

I agree, you can probably wait. Modern lubricants are really good!

Only Trace 4000s can and will supplement shore power. Given you didn’t trip your 15A shore power breaker I have to believe you have Trace units.

    One of the causes of this could be;

    leaking CAC-charge air cooler.

loose connection clamps, ruptured hoses going to charge air cooler

    dirty air filter

loose clamp on back of turbo

Five members of a family from Minnesota were lost in the Great Plains when their big, high end truck conversion and large race trailer went into the ditch and down into a ravine/stream. Everything about the floor was essentially wiped off the truck. Here is the story and some pictures/video:

    http://www.startribune.com/local/south/145595155.html

I had been looking at truck conversions (Ideally a 379 Peterbilt with a Cat engine so I could wear the CAT hat while driving) up to that point. That accident and losing seven or eight feet to the engine and hood prompted me to look at Prevosts.

Mr. Wade: You asked … “We are very concerned about the previous maintaince of the coach. If records can not be produced, is it really 30K for bringing all systems up to date as was mentioned in the previous post?”

    Answer: Yes.

Sellers are often like well practiced BS’ers. When they run out of BS, they just start making stuff up.

In our case the seller really didn’t understand what he was selling, didn’t understand the systems, didn’t understand that even the systems and components on a Liberty Prevost can’t and don’t last forever.

We were lucky for a number of reasons:

    1. I too have lost an enormous amount of sleep reading all the posts to both PC and POG.

    2. I received good advice and counsel from George Prentice and Jon Wehrenberg.

    3. The coach we bought was only 18 miles from Jeff Rowe’s shop in Vonore, TN.

We also started out looking for a 40′ coach because I was concerned about the additional length as we’d be pulling a 24′ race trailer. Then we went to the All Prevost Show in Tampa during Jan of 2013, looked at additional six coaches after the show, and finally concluded the extra five feet was worth it. We were counseled to get the IFS if we were concerned about the size as the turning radius is tighter.

Rented a 40′ Prevost last summer and pulled the race trailer from Wisconsin to SE Michigan through Chicago’s Loop for a weekend of racing. Proved to me I could handle the bus and the trailer without too much trouble.

We picked the coach up at Jeff Rowe’s last Friday morning, went to the Indy 500, and have had to move it around on our driveway a few times. I am really impressed with the turning radius. Getting the rest of the bus to go where I think it should be is still a challenge, but that will come with experience. But I’ve found that everyone works with you like when I was trying to make a right hand turn in downtown Pittsboro, Ind after the 500 … I didn’t have to use either of the horns or the train whistle to get two lanes of traffic three cars deep to back up so I could get the bus and the toad around the really tight corner.

looking at the photo of your alternator, my belt adjuster is full in and yours is only half way in. Your adjuster show thread and mine is flush. As I have found out loosening the side nut on the alternator to much and you unthread the adjuster. No fun was had trying to get it threaded back on. The biting yellow flies added more ambiance to the experience giving me a Flash back to the Mid East working on T-56-15’s

My question is: what is the adjustment spec used by CC ?

Doug, I’m pretty sure the 02s have a Crestron system. There are some that can maintain these. Some implementations of that time had custom nodes developed that spoke Crestron for 12V switching. Getting support for these, if they fail, may be a challenge.

I’m not sure which glass dash was installed in 02. If it was the Windows one then it’s as much a concern as any 12 year old industrial computer. The good news is there is a drop in replacement that is purpose built like new automotive dashes. The new one is much more feature rich.
