  • exhaust question

    I’ve noticed that when I first depress the accelerator after having let off of it (going down a hill for example) a brief blast of smoke comes out of the exhaust. I’ve noticed over the road trucks doing the same thing. Is this normal? Doesn’t seem to be using any oil.

    One of the causes of this could be;

    leaking CAC-charge air cooler.

    loose connection clamps, ruptured hoses going to charge air cooler

    dirty air filter

    loose clamp on back of turbo

    Mine does the smae thing. Talk to detroit mechanics and they say that’s normal. I’ve owned two prevost and they both did the same. My current bus does it as well.

    It’s just a build up of unburned fuel. No big deal.

    Mine does it too. I’ve been behind seated buses, and they do it too.
