When we 1st bought the bus 8 years ago it would lean to passenger side after about an hour or so, I replaced all air bags, they were in bad shape. Once I started to learn about the system the aux gauge would drop to 0 in a hour or so and primary and secondary tanks after 24 hours would do the same. Driving down the road next to a K rail I hear the dryer cycle every 5 to 10 minutes and started watching aux gauge and it would cycle from 120 to 100 at the same time. I replaced the governor on dryer and I replaced the unloadervalve kit and replaced air dryer with a Bendix AD9 dryer. After that driving aux gauge does not move driving down the road unless I hit the brakes. Sense then I’ve replaced all Norgrenvalves 1 level valve valve on 1 side of rear, system is pretty tight, In winter cold it still does lose a little air while parked at home, I’ve decided that’s good enough.

Check the capacitor. They are cheap, easy to replace, and may solve your issue. If not, you didn’t spend much.

Even if it was something that you owned in the past or a coach that you know or knew of. Feel free to discuss anything Prevost and vintage.

Looking forward to hearing from you:)

    Gerald,

I think you are correct to add a hot water expansion tank on the hot side of the check valve. A regular well accumulator tank technically should not be exposed to the temps it could see from the water heater. Make sure you get a hot water rated tank that is for potable water.

Jeff, I am assuming you have AGM batteries. I had Lifeline AGM for the house for at least 20 years and replaced them regardless of condition every 5 years. At the same time I changed my Delco 1150 chassis batteries, and my AGM Optima generator start battery.

    Never had a battery problem.

Just to put this in perspective when we went to bed at night we turned the generator off. We had the refrigerator and bay refrigerator running, the aux compressor on, water pump on, power to the TV circuit, and 4 amps of phantom loads, such as CO alarm, clocks, various antenna boosters, coach alarm system, etc. By morning our house voltage based on an analog gauge was always around 24.8 give or take a tenth of a volt.

With Li the only change is I added a digital voltmeter which I didn;t need, and truth be told my analog gauge, my new “precision” digital gauge, my Outback inverter remotes and my Fluke RMS multitester all disagree by one or two tenths of a volt.

The one absolutely unselfish friend that we can have in this world, the one that never deserts us, and the one who never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is our dog.
Our dog stands by us in prosperity and in poverty, in health and in sickness. They will sleep on the cold ground, where the wintry wind blows and the snow drives fiercely, if only to be near our side. They will kiss the hand that has no food to offer. They will lick the wounds and sores that were caused by the roughness of the world. They guard the sleep of us, as if we’re a prince, even if we’re a pauper. When all other friends desert us, they remain. When riches takes wing and reputation falls to pieces, our dog is as constant in their love as the sun in its journey in the heavens. If fortune drives us forth as an outcast in the world, friendless and homeless, our faithful dog asks no higher privilege than that of accompanying us, to guard against danger, and to fight against enemies.

Dick , yes certification is important same as manufacturers recommendations. Unless of course you disagree with them. Yes the 4th is a ground, but grounds can be pretty important , they are there for a reason.

My plug melted slightly due to improper power management practices , was not a meltdown. 3 CA’s at once set to max. Not a good practice. Soft start Capacitors in the future. Still on the fence with the smart plug. Have a new old style replacement in hand. Probably will just stick with the old faithful cord reel that has a new plug…
