I doubt that mine is the Oldest coach but it is a 1986 Prevost XL converted by Royal. we have had the coach since 2014 and put about 30,000 miles on it. it is amazing to drive. I have replaced all the parts that move on the underside, New flooring inside. including replacing the engine and serviced the transmission 30,000 miles ago. it was painted last year and looks better than new. of course I have more invested in the bus than I will ever get out of it I just don’t care it is so nice to drive something that is safe and comfortable. you cant put a price on that. we just finished a 5500 mile trip around the southwest and had a wonderful time over 4 months.
I did own a 1962 GM 4106 number 763 that had been a grey hound before it was converted by a aircraft interior shop back in the early 1980s. I bought it in 2002 and put about 45,000 miles on it. before selling it to a fellow in Alaska.

Dennis thank you. That is exactly what we are looking for. I guess from an old car background Jessica and I love the old coaches as well.
How many miles and have you had to do any major drivetrain rebuilds or replacements?

1992 Country Coach, I purchased it just over a year ago, been working on it since. All new inside, Mostly new outside except the paint. been working on it for the past year.

It’s only been off to a new owner for about a year but I really, really miss my 1988 Country Coach. My 1998 has a much better ride and the handling is far superior but the ’88 interior layout was far superior.

We owned this 2 coaches back a 1980 Prevost Liberty it is 96 inches wide 40 ft long Detroit 8V 71 engine 4 speed Allison she was a good bus kinda slow 8v 71 did not have a lot of HP, Bottom Pic before the 1980 Liberty she was a 1948 GM Silver sides Gray Hound bus it had a 6 cylinder Detroit 2 stroke diesel, can’t remember the cubic inch, had a manual 4 speed on the column (4 on the tree) had to double clutch trans, I was never very good at it going up hills shifting was tuff. Me and my brother owned her. I did some up grades did not have spring brakes for parking just a big pull lever to a drum at trans, it was scary added spring brakes much better. If I can find more pictures of the 48 I will post them, if I can find some old pictures, it was way before cell phones so didn’t have a camera close,I have more old pictures of her when my Dad and Mom owned her, Later they painted the Wile E Coyote over the gray Hound.

This was our 1992 Beaver XL 40 with solid natural walnut interior we owned from 2009-15. Bought it with 62K and sold it with 122K. Kinda wish we hadnt sold it. It was a side aisle closed off bath

I’m sure I’ve seen someone with an older Coach post before, but I have a 1984 Liberty Coach on a 96″ chassis. 8V92TA Silver (non-DDEC) with an Allison HT754CRD transmission and a Stone-Bennett shifter. I had to rebuild the transmission during my initial trip home due to a blown transmission cooler line that led to a massive and sudden oil loss.
