Often times it is not the fault of the power lift. Sometimes the door springs due to age need to be adjusted/replaced. The door when adjusted correcty will be able to be raised and lowered easily by hand. If not then there is too mush force for the power lift mechanism to overcome. If you release the door from the power lifter be sure to be prepared for it to come crashing down, that is be aware of the unexpected danger.
I might be all wrong on my opinion here as I can not see what you have.
Find a different door service company, your present one had enough tries.
Just sayin, JIM

Go figure…….in today’s manufacturing environment the ability to hold tolerances to standards unmatched 25 years ago it would seem whatever the life of a product is, all will be about the same. My 87 coach had a 50DN failure at around 100,000 miles, then 2 more failures within a week. The third replacement went 150,000 at which time I sold the coach with it still working. Those were the gear driven, mounted over the transmission alternators and that was a repair I left to Prevost in NJ. By the time they had replaced it three times they were getting good at it.
I replaced the original 50DN on my 97 coach myself and it seems like that was at 180,000 or so. The point is one can assume the 50DN has a life ranging from a few miles to almost 200,000 and anything in between. When I was at Prevost training and the topic was the electrical system one comment that was revealing is that the Bosch alternators which are now being used (up to 4 per coach) apparently have significantly tighter manufacturing tolerances than the 50DN because it was suggested if one fails, replace them all because the failures can be expected around the same time.
Maybe the ones Joel is considering will have a better and more predictable life span. Since he has OTR it is unlikely he is running his alternator anywhere near its max output because in his Liberty, unless he dry camps a lot overnight all his alternator is doing is topping off his batteries, as opposed to running AC units through his inverters.

Alright I just put in a new Viair replacing my 350c with the indusrial and stronger, 450C 12 volt 19 amp 1/4 hp max working pressure 150psi max CFM @0 1.66 CFM Mac CFM @ 150psi .72 CFM Maximum duty cycle 100psi at 100%
You can buy a rebuild kit for about $70 but I wanted faster air less run time,
Minutes on /off & 100psi continuious ,
It runs allot less But I know these dry compressors get very hot and heat kills them so I mounted a Marine bilge blower (they are round and move allot of air with very little amp draw) right on the end of the cylender head which kicks on with the pump,
I always check for air Leaks when I am not doing anything but those little burgers Like to rear there head when the Tempeatures drop down then i dont want to go out .)
Anyway My aux pump runs my floor slide , Aids in keeping bus level if needed, Runs the toilit, runs the bed lift (which My Wife is in and out allot) belt tensioners, all the air bags on the genertor, the front bumper is Pnematic etc etc
So you have a 2 gallon tank and severel hundred feet of air line 🙂
I just found my air bags on the generator were good but all thequick connectors were leaking went to( ferrel fittings) fixed three of them today Usually my Aux pump might only run a couple times a day but it has been comming on about every half hour so for now its shut off, The good side is the new pump only takes about 45 sec to completly fill the system from empty and before the pump was so hot it would scald your hand now I checked it with my heat meater and its running about 105 Deg, at the end of a full cycle,
You can imagine in an XL in the summer or heat what the temp is inside the lower stainless door under the drivers window even before you run a compressor,,,,,
Anyway I think it will extremly increase the life span of the compressor and I like running off the 12v system,
I would show a pic but I dont know how,
Anyway next week back to chasing aux air leaks, I put the hwh Auto leveling system in manual and it holds good, So the leak isnt there,

I keep my ladder in the spare tire bay behind the front bumper. Royale has an electrically lowered front bumper that provides easy access to the spare tire bay. As well as the ladder I use the same area to store deionizing cylinders, hoses, extension brushes and a pressure washer to care for my Bus.

Georges,
If the only source of charging the generator battery is the generator alternator, why not consider installing a battery tender that will use the 120v output of the invertors?

Ken,
It only rains between 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM in TN when most people are asleep. During the day it is always sunny. There might be a little alcohol somewhere within a group of Prevost owners.

Thanks Gil ,
Is it a Must to have one of those ?
Thanks,

My clear tint bra is effective for most everything. I have it on all of the cars as well. Not cheap, but it isn’t intrusive and you don’t have to take it off.
Nothing simple is going to stop a golf ball sized rock, but the odds of hitting it are low enough. This stuff does stop the little stuff, and bugs too!

Dang ! I bet that Driver is Driving for someone else now ?

Tom, what were the symptoms that pointed you in the direction of the flame sensor?
-
Ron, I don’t have a dog in the fight, but from my perspective I will guess most places you park are going to be level, and those that are not are likely to be going uphill from the front as often as those that go downhill. With those odds it would be tough to justify the extra hardware and future repeats of the problem. If you indicated you could raise or lower the rear also, I would not have suggested you do away with the system.
Climbing a high step will keep you healthy.

The 89 had a external spin on filter for the trans that started leaking after a year. I thought it was internal also until I did my search. 89 XL 5sp Allison. Not the B 500 in later coaches for I don’t know if their filters are internal or not. Also had a o-ring start leaking on power steering pump on 8-V92 that I thought was trans fluid. Not a hard fix but hard to get to. If it lets go you have no power steering. I’m running a Eaton 10sp autoshift in 98 so still have no experience with newer Allison. Bob
