What brand are they? If they are Drainmaster valves, there is a way to manually open them. Instructions etc. can be found at drainmaster.com. I replaced mine this spring with the newest ones that have stainless gears compared to the old aluminum ones that were originally installed. I like them.

I sploke to the dealer today and reported my findings. He was going on what the seller had told him that the batteries had been replaced last year and did not check himself. He said he should have caught it and offered to pay $2000 toward the replacement so I’ll get with Tom and get them ordered.

One place would be any NAPA auto parts.

Another would be any of those truck stops west of Carthage MO. on I-44 Fly J, Pilot, TA Loves. Really any place that sells diesel fuel will carry oil.

I usually watch the sales and ran accross Tractor Supply coupon less !0 % for my next oil change, buying ahead.

    Harvey,

If your making any noise on POG, stand by to be censored or deleted. Censorship there is a tool used often when the posts don’t fit the mold, as Mark found out a week ago. I assume it wasn’t anything nasty, we wouldn’t tolerate that either.

    Corey,

You just had to rub it in. And on the day we are all going out to eat at the gas station.

I would have been happy just being able to smell how good that food was.

Jon, I am not sure they could just be really dirty… in the holes there is black sludge like stuff and then overall they just don’t “shine” as much as I would expect… don’t have anything to compare them to…. so perhaps what I am seeing is normal….

You have to get to the back of that mount and tighten the two nuts.

Problem fixed! The problem was the Turbo-Cutoff valve. The upper (main) oring was visibly flattened. Replacing this valve is easy with the dryer still installed. The repair kit even comes with a small cup that aids in pushing the piston up past the sharp opening.

While having that work done I have the purge valve replaced and dessicant filter replaced. These require the dryer to be removed, which looked to be a PITA. The mechanic and I had the same thought at about the same time–why is the dryer installed here? My last plastic coach had the dryer installed in the engine bay. If I had more time I would have had the dryer moved to the engine bay where the jack currently resides. There’s plenty of room if you don’t have Prevost Bus Air.

I also solved the mystery of the drain located in the engine bay. This is a dryer drain, so it will only drain when the dryer is below it’s purge pressure.

Has anyone extended the wet tank drain to a place more readily accessible? It would seem to me to be an easy retrofit to extend a hose off the wet tank to the engine bay or tool box bay and locate the tank drain valve there.

I see the blatent copying as an admission that they have ZERO technical knowledge over there any longer. When they have to copy content and then start their “own” Ask Prevost forum, you know they are going down the toilet.

Maybe I should ask that question over there…?

I have stayed here twice in Asheville and love it. Very small with an awesome view. Only issue is it is 1-way up in the afternoon and 1-way out in the morning. My first time we didn’t have a toad and didn’t know and were just amazingly lucky there was no on-comming traffic. If it helps, they have a deal with a local company and can have a rental car at the site for you. Pretty reasonable as I remember. If you don’t have time for the estate, there is something I would recomend (but not with the bus). Google “Grove Park Inn” a 100 year old historic hotel that looks like it is right out of Yellowstone National Park. You can get a great lunch out on the veranda. We were just there for the annual Arts and Crafts antique sale and show which is a pilgramage for folks who love bungalow architecture. It is right in town but the driveway and parking didn’t look ver bus friendly. I have to say that in general, other than Biltmore which is extremely bus friendly, I didn’t find the town to be friendly in terms of navigating and parking.

A better option would be to go straight to the rally site, and catch a ride to Asheville with someone in the club. The drive through Smokey Mtn. National Park to Asheville and back is a nice all-day side trip.

The towels look awesome! Great job, Ann! Looks like our intrepid Oysterfest group had another incredible time this year! Vita and I were sorely disappointed to miss being with you folks this year, but with luck (and living right) we hope to be back for Oysterfest 2014!

As a “consolation prize” for missing Oysterfest, we ended up spending the weekend in the bus anyway at Paradise Valley a “local” resort about an hour from home in Dawsonville, GA, where we lease an RV lot. It was a much needed “getaway” for our mental health!

What was the final count on buses in attendance this year?
