Hold onto the antenna base and rotate the bus.

It might be easier to disassemble the interior. On my 97 if I recall there were small access panels behind the antenna base on each side. Or maybe it was on my 87. Brain fart.

You have to get to the back of that mount and tighten the two nuts.

This is not a sure cure, but what about trying to squeeze in some Sikaflex or silicone in between the mount and base? Another thought is a wedge of some sort tapped in to the space and then hide the little gap with silicone.

Is there a removable side cover plate on the black plastic base?

If there is you could remove it and if it were destroyed in the process, a new one made up.

The black base may in fact be hollow, allowing refastening from the outside or you may see the bolt head.

By showing the image you indicate you know the maker. You could buy a new one and see how it is made, without destroying anything on the coach.

Another idea is to make an adaptor flange extension of sorts to go down over the antenna and fit precisely over and around the existing base. That new member would have a thickness of about 1/2″ and could be attached to the coach from the outside using screws, “well nuts” and sealing with sikaflex. You would then tighten the base to the new member using pre installed set screws through the side of the new member and into the base.

Your marker/running lights are installed with “well nuts” it is an approved method of attachment.

The problem with a stiff antenna comes from; when “WACKED” something HAS to GO.

You could carefully cut through the black base and remove it alltogether, installing something new and more flexible, that attached from the outside.

The above ideas should be clear enough if you carefully read each word. If you need more clarification, ask.

That unit appears to be a Firestik M-2 sidemount as below:

There does not appear to be an easy solution except to expose the mounting bolts on the back. The top one is the center conductor of the coax which would be isolated from body contact by the non conductive washer while the other one is the coax ground.

I just checked my 98 Liberty. On both cb mounts there is access. On through the storage compartment above and right of the bed and the other behind the bedroom tv. You may be referring to radio ant. and not CB.

Before I started this thread I tried to get to the back of the mount from the inside. There is no way with tearing

the inside of the coach apart, just on easy access from inside.

So I tried as Tom suggested a wedge. What I used was a pry bar you would use to take nails out of a board.

This got the antenna base tight enought. I took the bar out and will make a wedge out of steel. After installing the wedge I’ll silicone around the outside edge. Rick
