I just went ahead and replaced all the batteries. With my NAPA card, I got four group 31s that almost doubled the CCA of the ones I had for just $103 each. I don’t have a multimeter, so I’ll have to get someone to check it for me. The orange BAL light went off and I am back to the red one that has been on the whole time. I feel better about going for the weekend. I’m stopping at a buddy’s house in Rome. Maybe he can check it for me.
I think I need to redo a lot of electrical stuff, including a new inverter on the house side. I’m sure I’ll be asking lots of questions over the next few months.

I drove long haul a long time ago. I was taught by the old timers to drive with the thumbs to be resting on top of the steering wheel. This way if the steering wheel violently jerked as in a blow out, you wouldn’t break your thumbs. Hard to drive with broken thumbs. Even with the power steering on the bus, I still drive with my thumbs on top. Hard to break an old lesson learned.

Tom, If you are bored, you might want to check this place out: http://evergreenmuseum.org/ It’s about 80 miles away and well worth it. There’s a great microbrewery nearby and some great wineries.

We did get it fixed a few months after the post. Prevost flushed and cleaned out the radiator and I wound up replacing the fan clutch which seemed to fix the problem. Maybe the wire was replaced too but it was not mentioned to me. I ran it for a little over a year before I traded up to a newer coach and had no further issues during that time. I did have extra relays as I always carry a few with me.
Thanks for your input.

Turn off both the 12 and
24 volt power for 1 min. then turn them back on that should take care of your
issue. That happened to us at the Tampa rally, Marathon instructed me to do
that everything worked after that.If that does not work call Joe at Marathon Florida he will walk you through other things to do. Good luck.

Thomas,
I took my bus in to Prevost Jacksonville for the first time last Fall. Previous owner had the bus in for service so I figured they new the unit and some history. Also gave me a chance to follow along with the mechanic and ask questions. It was a chance to walk underneath.
When I called to make an appointment for filters, oil, and lube, they told me of Level 1, 2 and 3 services. There was a list of services performed and a price that included the parts. No surprise.
During the walk through and discuss with mechanic I decided to have the Air Dryer cartridge replaced as well so that cost extra, as expected.
I liked it, going back next week for additional preventative maintenance (guess Jon is rubbing off on us!)

Davy, give me a call if I can be of assistance. 865-388-7665 Everyone is dead on with posts, battery cables, which in overcharge may not be the issue, batteries or a invertor. The Trace manual is available online, can you issolate it to one invertor as being the issue? Im not sure what batteries you have in your coach…Im sorry to hear of difficulties with your daughter.

Tom,
Have you seen the 2000 Country Coach H two slide that Orange County RV has. It’s one of the seven H3-45 CC did. Out of the 7, three had slides. They are HWH slides, miso the living room slide will have to be removed when seal replacement time comes

That is a great point with the shades, never really thought of it. That is a great heads up I must say. As Jon points out there are so many compromises in all these things. I do agree the Prevost mirrors at night can be tough.
