Why I Go To Prevost
Posted by Archived on November 7, 2013 at 8:36 pmWhile at a Prevost service facility last week having my air compressor, fan clutch bearing and part of the flexible exhaust pipe replaced they came to talk to me about a problem they had while putting the fan bearing housing back in the bus, they damaged some fins on the radiator. They informed me they pressure tested it and found no leaks but where going to order a new radiator and have it shipped in ASAP, all at their expense. I thanked them very much for informing me of the mishap but the new radiator would not be necessary. They thanked me for understanding and said they would make an adjustment to my bill for work performed and that a note would be added to the records so if there ever becomes a problem with the damage they would make it good.
I just wanted you folks on the forum to see what kind of company they might be dealing with.
I greatly appreciated them informing me of this and let them know it. The damage was very minimal, only bent about three fins on the radiator.

Having dealt with Prevost in Fort Worth recently I couldn’t agree more. I had no damage but they could not have been more concerned about me being 100% satisfied and took the time to answer my 1000 questions. Having an older coach that has been remodeled I was both surprised and pleased that the staff who dealt with my coach were genuinely interested in not just my coach but coaches as a whole. It’s nice to deal with folks who actually like what they do.

Prevost has always done an exceptional job of satisfying its customers. So have the converters. It is nice to be able to enjoy a product such as our coaches and know if we have issues they will be resolved to our satisfaction.
Try being able to say that with just about anything else nowadays.
Good job Prevost.

Even spending money at Prevost is a more enjoyable experience than having to call almost any other company !
-
Jon, I believe it’s true when you get great service and people really care about your coach!! I even throw in a handful of good new york steaks!!!!! I know the no tipping rule but it sure doesn’t hurt
-
Jon, notice I said “almost any other company”. The companies that are an exception are for the most part, companies that are connected to our coaches. I was refering to all our experiences with far to many companies that do not care about service as it used to be, i.e. ones with call centers especially.

I will never begrudge paying money to Prevost for their parts or services, but you guys that think its enjoyable are in a different world than mine.

What else you gonna do with it ? I’ve never seen a Brink’s truck following a hearse.

Cory or George… that was a good comeback… I’ve never seen that either !! LOL

Yeah with my old coach , when you on a first name bases with the service manager, and he gives you his cell number to contact him it takes the sting out of those $$$$ dollar tickets. NOT! One thing I can say is everytime I take mine in , it’s up of the lift and they check everything under coach for problems.
-
Diane,
Don’t get George or Corey going by telling them stuff like that. The reality is when we get done having our coaches taken care of there ain’t no need for a Brinks truck.
And Corey or George, in another life I built and placed burial vaults in the ground. Do you think the use of the word “vaults” is a coincidence? I think not.
-
Diane, of course-get us going ! Vault (a place to safely store money, valuables etc.). the ancients used them to bury their possessions with them so they could take them to the afterlife. We’ve gotten smarter (I think) than that.

I have never been to a prevost service center to get service so I have no idea what to expect.
For instance I don’t know if everything is ala cart or if there are basic service vs other broader catagories.
Such as just oil and filter, vs that plus check the brakes and axles, vs etc. etc.
I have been considering taking mine in to get service but want to go in educated about whats offered and what to expect.
As an example I can take my sprinter to dodge and get service i.e. the normal service a or service b and know what to expect. I can also take it to mercedes and get the exact same service only at twice the price so I know it is good to be prepared. I expected a higher level of service from mercedes but that has not proven to be the case.
I am reluctant to go to some other facility than prevost due to taking my previous rv to what should have been reputable folks and getting unforgivable service.
So not to get off track my question is simply to gain experience in what to ask for and expect when going to a prevost service center so I can be properly prepared.

Thomas,
I took my bus in to Prevost Jacksonville for the first time last Fall. Previous owner had the bus in for service so I figured they new the unit and some history. Also gave me a chance to follow along with the mechanic and ask questions. It was a chance to walk underneath.
When I called to make an appointment for filters, oil, and lube, they told me of Level 1, 2 and 3 services. There was a list of services performed and a price that included the parts. No surprise.
During the walk through and discuss with mechanic I decided to have the Air Dryer cartridge replaced as well so that cost extra, as expected.
I liked it, going back next week for additional preventative maintenance (guess Jon is rubbing off on us!)

Not only am I not going to need the Brinks truck in the procession, I want need the vault either cause as much as I have in my coach….they are going to bury me in it, maybe the toad too.
Gonna set me right there in the drivers seat with a full charge on my batteries so I can listen to Willie for a couple of days.
