Hey Al lol that was my thinking exactly “what the hell why not there’s nothing else to do” lol I will take a bunch of photos over the weekend when I prep the front end for it’s final installation. Like I said before it’s really not as difficult as they make it seem but what do I know I’m just a guy dealing with social distancing and quarantine this is my way of dealing with all of it lol.

I believe Dometic still makes cruisair units – but they are only marine units (DX, but water cooled). They do not sell air chilled units anymore – though I beleive they still make them for AAP (more than likely contract manufacturing for x number of units type of thing). But you can still get marine split units for marine applications from Dometic – though they will push you hard to go with their standalone units as they have a lot more options on that front. The split units are generally only for larger boat installations these days.

AAP by all accounts has taken over the non-marine side of things. I need to go take my units to them and have them looked at. They are the older R22 units as I beleive all the new ones from Dometic are R410.

Do you think that the HID/xenon lights were OEM (Prevost) installed or did Liberty do the conversion from halogen?

Not much 4 wheel traffic out here folks. But it’s heartening to see the usual number of trucks. We blew through Indy yesterday and Louisville and Nashville today. Horrible rain and lots of empty parking lots. RV parks are open.

Gail and I plan on being there unless things really get bad. That being said I think we should give it a couple of weeks and then decide. I just got back from the Cayman Islands on Sunday, the folks that I took down a week earlier wanted to extend their trip by a week. I explained that things are changing by the day and we needed to leave due to possible airport closures, which happen today. Here in the DFW area, all restaurants are closed, except for drive through or pickup, all gyms and movie theaters as well as all of the schools and most churches. So even though most of us want to go, I also agree with Mike and Joe, a couple of weeks might tell it all.

The insurace costs for the older coach market have also increased about 3X in about 3 or 4 years, and worse, I only know of one that will do agreed value.

My point is now that the insurance marketplace has almost zero competition they that remain are raping their customers. I cannot believe claims or losses have increased 3 or 4 times.

The question is what do we do? Some are going with the company that now covers their cars and home thinking they are getting a deal. But the problem is on a partial loss they will be arm wrestling with a company that is going to gasp for air when it figures out the cost to fix a bus conversion isn’t close to what it will cost to fix similar damage on a Winnebago. If there is a total loss then the Prevost owner has zero leverage because the insurance company will have provided an ACV policy, and guess what value they will assign to the coach? If you as an owner don’t like the fact you are being offered a low ball figure for a total loss, get prepared to face a very long expensive legal battle with almost no chance of a win.

What we need is a company that knows conversions, has reasonable pricing, and excludes people who are a risk so costs are low and premiums can be more reasonable.

To add to the above, the suspect voltage is the 12.19 because it is out of the 50% range by more than 1/2 volt.

If I were dealing with a reading like that relative to the 24 volt reading I would monitor it closely. But if it comes within the specified voltage range (one half of the 24 volt side within 1/2 volt) and tends to stay there all might be OK.

Think of this as two water pails, one full, the other half full. The object is to always have the half full pail hold exactly 1/2 of what is in the full pail. Draw water from the half full pail only, and always restore the amount that is in the half full pail by taking what is needed from the fuller pail to keep the less full pail at 1/2 the volume of the full one.

When you are charging, you are filling the 24 volt side, and that is what is being used to bring the 12 volt side full also.
