In aviation there is a critical altitude, above which the turbo boost diminishes as altitude increases

I would not be surprised if that wasn’t the case with our coaches. Having said that I would suggest a very detailed inspection of the system from the turbo output, through the CAC and into the engine intake manifold. Look especially at the red and blue hoses to and from the CAC as well as the piping to insure no corrosion or other leaks. Check clamps as well.

I Don’t recall a reduction in boost last year in the Rockies.

I have been 11,000+ in Colorado and New Mexico numerous times and didn’t notice a drop. I have been over Wheeler Peak in NM and the summit is just over 13,000. I-40 at Clines Corners (50 miles East of Albuquerque) is over 7,000, Albuquerque 5-6 and Flagstaff is right at 7,000 I am through those areas a lot and have never noticed a drop. I am pre-EGR.

Dan…had the parts listed in the recall installed last year by S&S Dallas and it cured the turbo problems I was experiencing.

Thank you Brett, FFF, Tom, and Jon. We’re not quite home yet, but running fine.

1) No red hoses, they’re all blue. I believe they should be red in front of the charge air cooler.

2) I became aware of recall 06C-4 in March 2019 and researched it then, and concluded based on the wiring harness that it had already been done. BUT did not find the obligatory sticker on the valve cover that it was. So will call Detroit and see if they can look up my serial number and determine

Though we’re not home yet, all the hose clamps seem tight but don’t know the torque spec.

Question: will high idle produce enough pressure to make a soapy water leak test work?

Detroit said 06C-4 has been completed on my serial number. But there was an associated recall number D07C3-A that has not been done. Will get that sorted.
