In GA and FL, you can self certify you are not engaged in inter/intra non-excepted operations and not have to have a physical. I’ve had to do it in both states.

I did get the DOT physical about 20 months ago. I had to get special reports from my cardiologist (quad bypass in 2014) and my sleep doctor (use a CPAP machine). Had to do a Bruce Procedure Stress Test with the cardiologist (which I usually have done every year or so) and have the CPAP chip read by the sleep doctor who has now retired. As I recall, those were just two of a number of specific questions I had to answer in the disclosure portion of the exam. Apparently the DOT has determined it isn’t in the best interest of the general public for a driver holding a CDL to (1) nod off while driving nor (2) have “the big one” while at the wheel. The DOT doc gave my fairly comprehensive DOT regulations regarding those two issue. Laid out well.
They also measure one’s neck size. Apparently those with large necks need not apply.

New York has required a “Recreational Vehicle” endorsement or a CDL for any vehicle exceeding 26,000 lbs or if 40 feet or longer since 2005. Like TX, you get a Learners permit and the make your road test appointment, but you need someone with an equal or greater license with you for that.
i humbly recommend acquiring the appropriate credentials for insurance mostly. Most NYS LEO’s don’t even know the law exists.

Had our Acadia 4X4 going on 8 years. You’re right Chuck tows great. Three (3) sets of tires, some suspension work, leaking A/C hose is about it.
I’am thinking it might be time for another.
BTW…..All black tow car looks good with your 2018 Liberty colors.

We tow a 2017 Silverado 1500 Z71. Tows easily, Even with battery disconnect it is less than 5 minutes to hookup.

We had a similar experience with our 2009 Liberty H3.
We did the following:
1) We cleaned the moisture sensor with vinegar. There are two plastic strips inside the dryer door (ours are gray). Just wipe them with vinegar, apparently they get a transparent coating over time.
2) our dryer vent exits under the water bay. It had some grass clippings in it, probably driven over some clippings without leather in dryer and got sucked up.
3) we crack the door on the cabinet when we use it.
Took a few cleanings to get the buildup off. But much improved.
Apparently there are Bosch models with a temp adjustment (energy efficient etc..) ours didn’t have it.

Looks like Country Coach already beat me to the solenoid valve game as it appears that they were installed at the factory. One of my two has failed to the open position which I presume that open is fail safe. A new one is coming.
Two valves below a manifold above the DDEC which when closed prevent air from operating the step cover, ISRI……probably more with the outlet pressure regulated to 40 psi. Country Coach set that regulator to 40 psi when I was in Junction City two years ago…..yes they are still in the repair and maintenance business, still open and now owned by Winnebago but operating as a separate company.
Evidently one valve failed and dropped to the open position….never stopped to think why the ISRI was whistling operating on aux air with the engine off.
Now my next thought…purge valve/water separator on aux compressor. Seems it should have one….any thoughts?

Ditto what Craig says & no problem with skid plates or the Blue-Ox stuff on our 2018 GC Overland. The GC is much easier to set up to drive after towing than our 2012 Wrangler. Basically just push a button on the GC and you’re off rather than wrestling and busting knuckles with the Wrangler shifter to reengage the transfer case.

Don’t know if they changed anything for ‘18, but I have no issues towing my ‘14 GC with BO base plate/tow bar.

Thanks Per! Having Lucy on board along with kids upon occasion, was a motivating factor to have the fail safe overrides incorporated into the bunk controls.

Andy, did you ever explain how you were able to watch Netflix through your phone while on your entertainment system in the bus without accruing data charges?
I’ve been busy with a move to a new home and haven’t uploaded any new stories the past few months. I’m hoping to do some new videos at the Prevost Expo and after those are edited, I hope to get to this one. As you’ll see, it requires an explanation and a demo.
The short story is that T-Mobile has a plan that allows data-free (no additional charge) usage of Netflix, Amazon and Hulu, but the video must be viewed on the device and cannot be tethered to another display. So, I setup an Apple TV on the bus that is not connected to the internet and creates an in-bus wireless system that acts as the bridge from the phone to the TV. There’s a static IP address in the mix (this will require a demo) that forces the phone or tablet to prioritize the cellular data over the non-existent WiFi Internet connection and this is the key to making this work. This allows me to use the data free plan of the phone to stream the services and allow the video to play on the bus’s TV’s without using any wired connections.
The techs at Marathon said it couldn’t be done…until I gave them a demo. The hitch to the plan is that it needs a decent T-Mobile signal to stream HD video and as I’ve learned in my travels, Verizon seems to offer better coverage in the USA than T-Mobile. T-Mobile also offers an enhanced hotspot program that’s somewhat hidden and it’s like a secret menu at In-N-Out.
I know it sounds complicated, but it’s really not. When I have the time to put together a step by step video, you’ll see the skill level for setup is fairly low. It’s a heck of a lot easier that attempting to understand battery cable connections!

Agreed, those screws should have a tapered seat. A flange bolt that only contacts that mirror bracket in a couple very small areas will fatigue the metal which reduces the seat pressure and the bolt backs out. Ours are big phillips-head screws, not likely to be found at a local hardware store. Maybe somewhere like Fastenal can order them in, or McMaster. I’d check with Prevost first.

Jim, the device arrives already flashed. I don’t know if this is something you can do with your existing device or service. The instructions specifically say to not reset the device. Mine came with two months of service, then you buy refills online or in some stores. At $5 per month, it would be a very nice Verizon backup for someone with service through another carrier. Time will tell if it’s good enough to be my primary. I just completed a speed test here in downtown Kansas City. 2.5 mbps down and 0.86 mbps up. Not bad for the money.
