We lived full-time in our coach for nearly 10 years, and it was terrific. Our last 5 years was in a 2000 (1999 bus chassis) Liberty Coach. It was a 45′ non-slide XLV.

We traded a 43′ triple-slide Beaver motorhome for it and couldn’t have been happier. For us, being “slide free” was the way we wanted to go, after owning several motorhomes (Safari and Beaver) that had single, double and finally triple slides.

We enjoyed more storage, more closet space and a much better floor plan that perfectly suited our lifestyle by going with a Prevost bus. And, in our opinion, no one dies a better job than Liberty Coach.

If you take this plunge, it will be the adventure and experience of a lifetime, and one that few people ever get to enjoy.

Apparently we’re not smart enough to see the dangers…

Just for grins I tried to come up with a cost per mile based on 12,000 miles per year. It includes amortization of things like tires, batteries, air bags, etc. based on what I think is their useful life. Keep in mind I do all my own repair work so my costs are just for parts.

$1.30 per mile. Your mileage may vary.

Just having read the Coach Owner Training under the General Discussion tab, you can easily see that everyone on this site wears their feelings on their sleeve and are easily annoyed…Yeah, RIGHT! I belong to and read a lot of blogs, but I keep retrning to this group simply because I can lerk and read and chuckle. It seems that most here have the same warped, wierd, Uh, unusual, , hmmm, OK just plain SICK sense of humor that I have, and it is great fun reading all of the bickering about brands, etc. while still receiving great, informative suggestions and directions on how and why these coaches do what they sometimes do. We all goof from time to time and step in the doggie poo, but everyone here tells their tails of woe and we all get a good laugh because we all know that something will happen to us as well. As all retractable pilots say,”you have, or you will, if you fly enough, land with the gear up.” That, my friends is why I hung up the pilot’s license…I havent had that horible ‘scraping sound’ experience and I never intend to do so. Saying that does not mean that I will not do something really stupid in the future.

All I can say is keep the humor and banter heading this way as I, for one, enjoy it. Laughter, is indeed, the best medicine and life is so much sweeter when you are smiling.

Dry huh. I will just have to start making and selling it like my dear old grandmother did back in the early 1900’s. She came from Germany with my grandfather and knew the trade.

Ok kids we just got back from Parliament and I got the sealant that Rick was talking about. Its called ACRYL-R ,The number on it is sm5504 and its made by schnee-morehead. Parliament sells it for 14.95 a tube.

Ben says Rick has been using it since before Ben was born, or something close to that. Thanks again for the input and I hope this helps everyone else too.

I guess I just hold Prevost to a higher standard. I do this because Prevost says they hold themselves to a higher standard (Red Carpet Service). I can tell you that when I bought this coach in ’99 I had no issues. By 2001 or ’02 I encountered a few minor issues. As we approached 2005-07 we were seeing many issues and these days we cannot trust Prevost to do anything correctly unless I personally supervise every part of the operation.

Did I tell you about the day they were working on my leaking fuel system (that they created) and inaccurate fuel gauge readings? They said I should run to the local truck stop and fuel up to ensure everything was working as expected. While fueling I walked away and upon returning I discoverd diesel pouring out of the bay. Quickly stopped fueling only to discover that the line between the input and the tank had been disconnected and never reconnected. I pumped 35 gallons of diesel into that bay itself! Yep, Mira Loma! OK, they took full responsibility, did the repairs, cleaned it all up, re-carpeted, made it look like new. Still, never should have happened.
