Harry, go stand in the corner for a time out.

Glen, if you don’t change fuel filters and they get plugged you may end up testing what I just posted.

Tom, I have starved two buses out of fuel, and neither were out of fuel in the tank. The first was after refueling in OK we were westbound in NV and the bus engine started bucking and then losing power. Had I not been able to coast into a truck stop with the engine at idle the engine would require a prime. The fuel from a no-name cheap fuel truck stop on OK had dirt in it, and I changed all three filters (Racor and 2 spin on) at the fuel island and used the pump at the island to fill the new filters with fuel.

I’m not suggesting priming an engine is a common event, but if it should be needed we can do it ourselves if we want to save some serious money.

one suggestion As you replace lines and fittings go to compression dot fittings— the push type seem not to be happy with temp changes and to loose their seal after awhile.

Barn is too short. What happens when you buy your 45′ and a trailer?

We drove 323 miles from New Braunfels, TX to Fort Stockton, TX.

I told me wife about this thread. I asked if she could hear any rattles or squeaks I was not aware of. She mentioned three things:

    1. When we first got the coach, once in a while we’d hear some rattles. We ended up attributing that to the dishes, pots, pans, silverware, settling in the drawers and cabinets onto the Liberty installed carpeting in all the cabinets and drawers.

    2. We discovered if we didn’t seat the leaded crystal wine chalices and leaded crystal “on the rocks glasses” that Liberty Coach so thoughtfully provided into the CNC routed Lexan holders properly they would “rattle” into place after a few miles.

    3. The manual Zip-Dee awnings have a loop that is used to open and close the awnings. When the angle of the wind against the coach changes or when we pass a semi sometimes that fabric awning loop will snap against the coach and make a soft, muffled sound.

Those three plus what I posted earlier … that’s about all we hear other than some wind noise and some muffled tire noise depending on the type of pavement we’re running on.

Call Bill at Liberty Coach in North Chicago. I bet he either knows, or can find out for you.

I’ll be watching this thread with interest as I have a potential run to Prince Edward Island and I’m 74′ with my stacker. Seems to me I recall you’re about the same length. I’ll be traveling through New Brunswick and PEI.

    Ken,

Don’t know what part of the country you’re in but if in or near enough to Florida check out the Tradewinds gathering later this month. Promises of sharing all things Prevost got me so ready I showed up a month early. No kiddin ask Scott & Kyle they’ll tell ya. i decided to leave the new to me coach there & come home all the way to SC with my tail between my legs sulking like I just missed a birthday party or something. Why did I leave it? I knew I was coming back. Do you know how much diesel is & at 3 miles to the gal who can blame me. I hear tell that if you attend your dues here will only be triple the norm too. After all this I hope you don’t say well I’d love to be there but we’re in Oregon or some place far far away. Welcome aboard!

FulltimeBill: Your problem might be a good topic for separate thread.

Have you considered reaching out to American Fleet in Springfield, MO. They are a big Detroit Diesel shop. They might have an answer for you.

I’m also confused. I thought the 8V92 used a mechanically driven supercharger that sat between the cylinder heads. Or is that a different version and the 8V92s are all turbo-charged?

Ditto what Tom said. But also keep in mind my seat of the pants feel for subtle differences may be faulty because I can’t even tell the difference in driving between a solid axle and IFS except for turn radius.
