When I had to change my broken Flip phone for a new one, they asked me if I wanted to transfer my phonebook contacts over… I said, what is that? I have never entered in the phone numbers of people that I call. They looked at me rather strange.
I don’t keep numbers in my phone although I like the ‘in case of emergency’ option number but have never ventured into punching it in the phone.
It doesn’t take long to be un-techy… I really would like the convenience of some of the new phone features. The reason I think I lost interest a few years ago was that a phone seemed to last a couple of years and EVERYBODY (including my friends) had to have the newest and greatest…. it just seemed like a waste of money. Why can’t these existing devices last longer?

Can’t I just eat in peace, taking about a Liberty gives me heart burn!

If I were to lose a hub cap I would have no choice but to get a replacement from Liberty.
However in Tom’s case where 4 caps are needed, he may find replacing all caps with an aftermarket cap might make more sense. It boils down to cost and appearance.

Tom,
Thanks for the link to the delamination thread. Lots of good information.
Does Prevost keep track of the coaches that have been repaired for the delamination problem? Is there any way to contact someone at Prevost to check by VIN #?
The delamination thread was from 2013 was that when Prevost started correcting the problems? How many years of XLII’s were affected?

Some great points. I have not heard of any early 2000 XLII coaches with delamination issues. I had that on my 2010 and was repaired. When did this start?

They did correct the readings to reflect actual. Someone that knows the specifics might be able to post the changes and when they were made.
I actually ignored my readings because over time on my coaches I knew a certain device drew 13 amps, another might draw 10 and yet another might require as much as 15. So what I found myself doing was ignoring the meter and just turning on the circuits that I knew would not exceed the limits and if some additional loads were required I would know which to turn off to prevent tripping the shore power. When I turned on the generator however I threw caution to the wind and became an energy hog.

I agree with Tom. We just bought a 99 Liberty conversion from the second owner who had only owned it since December; kinda long story, will share at a rally some time. The original owner used the coach in his business and couldn’t produce any maintenance records; business had been sold, businesses often don’t keep anything more than seven years. The original owner, the caretaker who “baby sat” the coach for the original owner, and the second owner swore up and down that the coach had maticulous care over its 15 year life and “any time anything was a problem … it was immediately taken care of”. Had 70,000 miles on it.
But no one could produce any records. The original owner was a beer distributor, had lots of trucks, and I was finally given the name of the truck center that did all his truck work, “the bus was always taken there for service”. The service manager knew the bus well. Looked in his computer. They had done fluids/filters every year; nothing else. Last time they saw the bus was in 2008. Six years ago.
All the filters had a June 2011 date on them. I asked “what happened between 2008 and 2011?” The coach had been kept in the Knoxville area. Finally (and I mean like after asking the same question five times) the caretaker volunteered that it had been taken to Buddy Gregg’s in Knoxville (who originally sold the coach) in 2011 and that not too many miles had been put on between 2008 and 2011. I called Buddy Gregg service. The service manager I talked to wanted to be helpful … but they have had three computer systems in a short period of time. He confirmed the service in 2011 was oil changes for the engine and generator and the trans fluid with the appropriate filters. He couldn’t tell me if they had seen it prior.
Original owner volunteered that the coach was at Liberty’s North Chicago facility, but didn’t have the workorder, invoice, or receipt. Jeff Rowe was able to get that. Some work related to the conversion and bus air had been done; but the bus air wasn’t working.
Working on the date and mileage of the service in 2008, we were able to calculate about 3,000 miles were put on in just less than six years. Some of the 3,000 miles was a 1,200 mile round trip from the Knoxville area to North Chicago and a trip from SE Michigan to the Knoxville area. Take those trips out and there was barely enough mileage for a decent monthly or every two month exercise of the coach and the systems.
Jeff had the coach at East Tennesse Luxury Coach for about a month; a number of the PC members have seen it in his shop. In the end we concluded that the coach had been kept clean and inside most if not all its life when not being used. But far from being the immaculate coach as it was represented as. Lots of stuff was replaced and fixed by Jeff.
Jeff reminded me of an important concept: If the seller(s) can’t produce maintenace records, presume nothing was ever done. So we zero’d everything out.
My aviation experience is limited to single-engine light aircraft and a Beech 18 on floats. Reasonably detailed maintenance records for a Prevost coach as well as any aircraft are vitally important when it comes to selling time.
So … buyers beware if the seller “can’t find the records”.
Sellers … if you want to command a premium price for your coach, have the maintenance records readily available for review when a buyer comes a calling. A spreadsheet summarizing all the maintenance on top of the receipts and records would be very helpful. If you’ve spent the money to fix and replace things on the coach, get credit for that money spent by producing the records.

Mine do the same thing, and I have not found a way to change it. I replaced a failed temp sensor this past winter and that made a HUGE difference in how long they will try to charge. It now goes into float much quicker than it did last fall, but still goes into charge each time I switch to either generator or shore power.

I am using Air Force on my 2012-2500Dodge Ram, and swaped it from the 2011-2500
works great

Mine works with the ignition key turned on and the engine does not have to be actually running.

We bought the coach, S-5665, from Parliment last Jan. We were told it was a 2 owner coach since new. The original owner had it for 16 yrs, then the owner of Parliment bought it for his personal coach and had it for about a yr. Then we bought it. They told us they did a PDI. I now know what they call a PDI and what I call a PDI are two different things. I’m disappointed, but not surprised. We live in the San Antonio TX area and they are in FL so we’re SOL. Will I buy anotherPrevost? Someday, yes! Will I buy it from Parliment?
Currently, I have the pneumatic system working well in the travel and manual leveling modes. I’ve set all airbag heights at 11 1/4″. I haven’t tried the auto leveling mode because I prefer to do it manually. What doesn’t work is the tag raise feature. I believe it doesn’t work for multiple reasons. I think there is a hole in the drivers side actuator camber. And the tag bags don’t dump because the exhaust ports in the 3 way Norgren valves have pipe plugs in them. If I pull the plugs out, I loose the air in the tag bags when they are suppose to stay full. The question is: are the 2 rear Norgren valves malfuctioning, or are they the incorrect part#?
The paper schematic(D140202-rev D) that came in the mx manual with the coach, and the 2 the PrevostCar website that applies to our ser#,(D14202 rev E, & D140211) are NOT what is installed on our coach. The schematic that looks more like our coach is D140212(minus the ABS) because our coach has two 5 way valves, #s 166 & 167, and the 5 solenoid shuttle manifold. The system depicted in schematic D140212 is for a later ser#?.
Question??????????????? Do the schematics depicted on the PrevostCar website reflect any and all changed the converter has made?
I plan to call Liberty Monday to ask them. Then I’ll have a better idea of what is right and wrong with our coach.
Thanks!!!!!!!

I think it’s at least part Angola. That tiny white rocker
switch with the green indicator light beside the driver’s left knee is identical
the one on my 88 Angola.Joe, does your coach have a right side slide? Does it work
well. Any down sides, lost bay space, wind noise water leaks or anything like
that? -
Why Not? Because! Hi Don. See your back. 36 dodge 1 1/2 to on 550 ford E chassi(1999)—Parts getter…. Bob

That’s a good idea Les.
Al, all you want to do is spend my money. Anyway I have to have some projects to work on when I get the car home.
