Not to discourage you but it took us about 2.5 – 3 years to find our perfect bunk coach. wife and I had given up and dumped a bunch of money into modifying a quad slide dutch star and then the “perfect” coach presented itself. We jumped on it and have been super happy with our choice. My opinion is Marathon has produced the most bunk coaches or bunk compatible coaches of any of the big converters. I am super familiar with entertainer options and floor plans based on what I do for a living. Sounds like a “star” floor plan might be a good fit. I have seen several of those that have the star suite in the rear with full bath then 3 or 6 bunks and a half bath. All things considered, unless there were extensive maintenance logs on the low mileage garage kept units you are looking at… low mileage doesn’t always equal no problems…

We didn’t seriously consider an entertainer when we were looking as we were looking for a different fit and finish. I am surprised to hear especially in this market that they are significantly more expensive

The cable attached to the pin is the break away.

I’m sure it’s just a spoof, but it got Jon all in a tissy.

Roy, do not rely on weights of other coaches. Each coach and each converter is going to be unique. To add to potential variations between converters and different converter features each owner is going to load his coach with significant variations in how bays are loaded.

Go to a salvage yard, grain mill, or a truck stop and get on their scales with an axle on each section if you can work that out. For about $10 you get weights specific to your coach. Weight the coach as normally loaded, with full fuel and water and an empty holding tank.

While the Webasto burner is out getting a new nozzle, clean the combustion chamber and the U-channel chamber getting the loose soot out. Clean the flame sensor and check ignition point gap too.

And I put helper springs on my slide pins for my disc brakes.

Bravo to you on your effort.

I dealt with Chad Stevens at Premium Coach Group in Gilbert, AZ. I found them to be above board and good to work with. If I were looking to replace my coach, I would start with them.

    Just my two cents worth.

Update: Output speed sensor was found to be reading incorrectly on the low gears/speeds replaced and seems to be all good!

Sorry no picture of “H” and I believe the CAC is in same location as XL….forward of radiator.

I’am pretty sure on that as I had to fix my CAC in the “H” as you know who did the F…up.

Truk ….has a point with suggesting to check his CAC. It could of been replaced with the cheap one installed as happened to a friend of ours in your hood parking.

Could it be an original CAC ?

Interesting about the HP. I could not find any Detroit Diesel publications that listed anything greater than 470 HP for a 12.7

November 22, 2019 at 9:29 am in reply to: How to Adjust Ride Height Valve?

Great info from all – sincere appreciation.

I did not mention the fact my steer axle ride height is at least an inch too high. (I did not mention it as I clearly see how to adjust the steer valve)

AND I TOO, and just a over a month ago had an alignment performed at Josam’s in Orlando as I was very nearby. I asked the tech to check ride height, but apparently that was not done.

The main reason I wanted a check of ride height is that I have felt that perhaps all air bags had too much air as the ride is pretty darn rough at bridge transitions and poor pavement. (Smooth as silk on good pavement – all air bags are +/- 3 years old and Koni shocks were installed all the way around this calendar year)

Now that I have for sure confirmed the front is too high by at least an inch, I wonder how lowering the front air bags will adversely impact the alignment. I live just north of Houston so a return trip to Josam’s is not practical. Thoughts? THANK YOU

***EDIT – Guess I should have waited to reply until after I exercise the air bags as Jon describes… Maybe that will make the difference… Will advise
