Thank you everyone for the input. I was sort of into the idea for layout — would get my wife and I excited about the prospect and then let the converter company reel us back in. You guys all know far more than me about this stuff!

Andy, I followed your search on YouTube, you ended up with a Prevost? I remember you Newell factory tour which was pretty awesome. (I hope its not bad form to mention that name).

Finally, is there an obvious choice for converter if I bought an early 2000 Prevost and wanted to gut it?

Thank you all for your input and guidance on this. Andrew

It seems I spoke too soon as within an hour of writing that post, the gremlin returned. Suggestions welcomed.

Jeff, I would love to have Peters coach, anyone who gets it will be fortunate since I know how well and carefully he maintained it.

I agree with June. Looking forward to seeing the “Save the Date” post for the open house.

Looks great, wonderful and functional. Picture taken from a plane or drone?

    Excellent video!

The first part of the Prevost reminded me of doing the Featherlite factory tour in Suffolk, which basically sold us on buying a Prevost. Once you see the structural integrity of these machines, it’s really hard to go back to a traditional motorhome bolted together, and not made of stainless steel.

If you liked this video, there’s a whole series on UTube about this coach and others, but especially pointing out the uniqueness of the Prevost chassis. For example:

We hope to tour Marathon in Coburg next summer while doing a build out there.

You can find Michelin Advantage dealer
participants by going to the Michelin site, select “Michelin New”
and or “RV Tires”, put in your zip code, and a list of dealers
    will come up.

In the dealer list will be some icons
indicating what services that dealer provides.

The Icon that looks like a “truck cab
going to your right with a dollar sign
    ” indicates that they
participate in the “Michelin Advantage” program.

Every dealer that I have called, that
has the Michelin Advantage Icon shown in this listing, has indicated
that they “in fact” do participate in the Advantage program.

I just went through this recently. I
found a dealer with 315/80R/22.5 XZA2 Energy tires in stock by
    calling around.

    Doug,

I have a 96′ Vantare and also have 8 4D’s. Not unusual for Vantare I do not think.

    Ernie,

The Control Unit (brain box) for the Webasto burner does not control interior heating. But interior thermostats do. Good luck sorting it out.

That nitrogen and blue leak solution they sell if the only way to go. Have to drain/evacuate system to nitogen charge. New dryer, Vacuum system , and charge. I’m learning the systems, cruiseairs and OTR cause I can’t find anybody to work on the coach around here. Good luck and stay safe.

If you are seeing fluid in the lower site glass on the receiver in the condenser bay, the red ball in there should be in the vertical middle of the glass. If the ball is at the bottom of the glass, freon is low. And condenser fans are no go. But if freon is very low, your 05G Carrier compressor will also not kick in. So since you have compressor, but no fan, you could be just low. From the manual, as noted above, we need 120 psi on the line at the pressure sensor.

my last rv was a Tiffin Allegro Bus. I literally just sold it.

Last winter I experienced a complete failure of the hvac potentially caused by a 12 volt surge. – of course the surge was caused by a leak in the roof / but not really a leak but a spot that had started the process of being saturated after card rains around the search light. This location didn’t feel soft, and because of that no one could figure it out until I took it to my rv & truck body shop. They diagnosed it, repaired it and all was good.

This “surge” took its toll including the hvac control system (dual zone lp and heat pump, king dome &microwave)

I found an exceptional Newmar dealer outside of Orlando to diagnose and fix the hvac issue – and during my trip home I called tiffin to request a opportunity to drop off the coach to them to find the blessed leak. (March 2016) – they told me at that time the only work I could have done at the factory would be if I could stay with the coach throughout the process. as I still work and have small kids this was obviously unexceptable. I told them I was willing to leave as long as required – so long as I could have it back in June. they said they were unable to take older coaches in that manner.

Apparently this rule has been coming for some time. Glad to own a bus now!!

Top left is for the AC to turn it on for the driver , the right one is to bring heat to the driver area faster I never used it , it was always good enough with out it on , the other one with the man and light is for the driver area light above your head, the over ride one is for the DDEC if it tries to shut down the motor you can push it to get you off the road when the stop engine light comes on you have about 30 seconds or it will shut down the motor so you can just keep pushing that button until you get off road every time you push it it gives you another 30 seconds
