Recs for New Tires
It’s time for new tires. Any recs appreciated. Michelin lists 3 options with quite a price difference. I have 31580R22.5 ‘s on now. Also, any recs for a shop in the Phoenix/Mesa AZ area? Having trouble finding a dealer that will let me use the FCMA discount program. I see FCMA just added Continental. Don’t know much about them. All input appreciated.

Hi Mike,
I just looked into tires in town. Call FMCA at 800-543-3622 and ask for the Michelin Advantage program. There are three or four places that we discussed in town. One was on your side of town. Last time I used the program I went to a shop on the East side of I-17 just north of McDowell Rd. They did a fine job.
Prices just changed with the program as of March 10th I believe. I was checking on 315’s and 365’s and they actually went down!

The choice of tires is your own. With the internet and the Michelin Advantage plan available I am sure you will be able to make a decision as to what works best for you.
I do know Prevost has used Michelin as OEM tires for decades and that Michelin has tested Prevost coaches on their various test tracks at their Laurens facility which is a strong reason why I am replacing mine this May with Michelins. One additional reason that has confirmed my choice I learned last week. Michelin has a nationwide service program called 1-800-TIRE-911. If you have a tire issue and you require emergency road side service that number is going to bring a tire dealer to you. The service has to meet the Michelin standards which are stringent.
When the technician arrives he is going to document everything he can with a company provided Smart phone with photos of everything. He will have digital equipment that will take a lot of information such as tread depth, temperatures, pressures, etc as is applicable and via blue tooth it will be downloaded along with the photos. He will diagnose to the best of his ability what he can and if the problem was a manufacturing or tire issue that information will be supporting your claim for warranty work. You get to retain all data and photos collected.Bottom line is with other brands he fixes a flat or replaces a tire, with the Michelin program you are protected with full documentation and you are dealing with more than someone who can mount a tire and air it up.
If I sound like I am smitten with Michelin I cannot deny it. I wish every PC member could have attended last week’s seminar.

You don’t need to fool around with FMCA, use the PC program to get your letter, then go shop anywhere you want. You have to call the tire companies and ask if they will accept the Advantage Program, then you’re good to go.

You can find Michelin Advantage dealer
participants by going to the Michelin site, select “Michelin New”
and or “RV Tires”, put in your zip code, and a list of dealers
will come up.In the dealer list will be some icons
indicating what services that dealer provides.The Icon that looks like a “truck cab
going to your right with a dollar sign” indicates that they
participate in the “Michelin Advantage” program.Every dealer that I have called, that
has the Michelin Advantage Icon shown in this listing, has indicated
that they “in fact” do participate in the Advantage program.I just went through this recently. I
found a dealer with 315/80R/22.5 XZA2 Energy tires in stock by
calling around.
