Once on Weatherunderground site, go to Maps & Radar drop down menu, then chose full maps catalog. Pick and choose from there.

Has anyone had a service done at Prevost in Hayward CA?
Is there a person working there you would recommend talking to?

Do you do a lot or most of your own service or repairs? The advantage goes to Prevost.
How much have you driven a Prevost and Newell. Handling and steering is a very huge deal and Prevost has significantly improved handling, steering, etc over the years as a result of millions and millions of miles of experience. You cannot possibly tune a chassis, suspension, and handling with feedback from so few units produced or miles driven. Until you’ve driven a 1200 mile day or routinely driven 650 mile days you will never understand how important steering and handling can be. Advantage Prevost.
If slides are important Newell gets the advantage.
This may be a meaningless anecdote, but my three coaches and a number of other coaches have had zero issues backing up my driveway, including starting from a stop halfway up. The only Newell to get up my driveway took four tries. The first three, midway up the drive axle tires started spinning and it looked like a busy day at the drag strip. The fourth try the driver got a little run at it from the bottom of the driveway and he finally made it. It scared the shit out of him. What this relates to is in the real world we deal with ice, snow, wet roads and even mud. I do not know how axle weights are distributed on the Newell but there was limited traction where it is needed.
I have zero Newell driving experience, have only been inside two, and the owners really like them, unless they are just being defensive. I do not like to hear a Newell owner tell me he has a coach and we have a bus.
What it comes down to is if you prefer a Newell or a Prevost. If you are driven to decide based on economics do a lot of research on depreciation and measure that as part of your evaluation. After all it is just another RV.
(I think my bias is showing)

Ok we have final pricing that will be announced in next weeks Newsletter. It will be over $100 off the suggested $499 retail price!!! No one anywhere will have this pricing. Garmin is going to run the promotion for us, for 30 days. They do have a limited amount set aside just for us so order early and we will not have a supply issue. The Newsletter will have an order form and we will also post a link on the Home Page and probably the forum.
Garmin was great to deal with and we hope to have more promotions like this in the future:) As I have said the bike computer with rear radar is one of the best things I have bought in a long time. It beeps, the screen turns red and it shows you in real time cars coming up behind you. It adds so much to the safety aspect. I am not a golfer, but a lot of friends of mine talk about how great that stuff is as well.

I have the same problem.
What kind of coach do you have?
How did you get at the cylinder? Go in behind the front bumper? Do you have Cruise-Airs behind the front bumper? Or is there another “way in”?

Bill, without realizing you provided the clues that prompted my first post. Please look at what the posts said.
Your first post got me thinking because you said you started the coach and built pressure and then got moving. To me that suggested a bad combo brake chamber. In your second post you mentioned a brake chamber. You showed a part.
What got my attention as inconsistent and prompted my post saying I was confused was your description of a cycling compressor. Your third post was the key. It confirmed what I was thinking was ultimately described by you as the problem. When you stated air was still leaking loud enough with the parking brake applied it confirmed air was leaking from a relay valve or upstream from the relay valve, such as a fitting or hose.
Everything else such as your pre-trip inspections or lack of desire to develop a basic understanding of systems is background noise, but the two issues combined were instructional. My first point was your mechanical issue is easy to analyze if you were to provide answers to some specific questions. Had you not mentioned you spoke to Prevost I likely would have made a post asking questions. In retrospect Prevost probably did not ask the questions because rather than speculate they knew they would be getting the coach in their shop. In reading your posts you provided clues, and then putting the clues spread over several posts together the actual problem was isolated. This was important because it helps members know that given correct information a lot of problems can be identified.
The second issue that to me was important was to make members aware a pre-trip inspection can not only provide important information about potential problems, it can put the owner in charge of making service decisions, possibly assuring the owner’s safety and eliminating the need for unplanned service and towing costs. I did not want your negative comments to guide owners because I am concerned about our member’s safety and to an extent their wallets.

changed truflo 700 air compressor.. 75lb and in a tight knuckle skinning, arm bruising place. Was over my pit so couldn’t use shop crane.( engine lift type) So he man 75yr old did it by hand..didn’t say smart! simple : drain coolant ,remove fuel filter, remove all lines, remove fuel pump, remove power steering pump, and one sob bolt between engine block and pump. then lift in, align and get that sob bolt back in. Was having a blast!

Larry,
in addition to Jon’s advise, I will share with you my experience for consideration. When I first got my bus I drove her 75 – 80+ left lane all the way. That was up until I blew a steer tire doing 80 and if it wasn’t for having an early career driving trucks, where 2 things are instilled in my DNA, never wrap my thumbs around the steering wheel and never ever jump on the brakes when a tire goes, as well as the grace of God, I was able to keep the dirty side down and safely stop.
Bottom line is the unexpected happens. Always position yourself to be able to handle the unexpected. I now drive in the low to mid 60s. If those around me on the road don’t like it, I just smile at them because I am driving a Prevo and they are not. When I have to get somewhere in a hurry, I fly, otherwise I relax and enjoy the open road

Does anyone use Monnit ? I do for the dogs and it’s great stuff. It is cellular and has a battery backup. It is on my list to contact them and see if I can get us a PC discount.

Tom, the “suggested user name” has appeared for me too, but I’d say that has been there for at least a couple of weeks. I still have to click “choose my own password” and then enter it. But, hey – the user name bit has nearly cut my work in half, so I’m pretty pleased! Frankly, when they fix the password it will mess up my “finger flow” as I log in, but I’m willing to adapt.
None of this is intended as a complaint on my end, just data points for things already being discussed. I’m grateful for Prevost Community in its current form, and look forward to whatever may come.
