We towed a B-190 Airstream Ford F-350 Class B in 2006-8 with driveshaft disconnect behind our H. Plan evolved in leaving bus in civilization aka Koa, and took B Van into the wilderness where 52,000 lbs Vehicles can’t go. This way it eliminated long day trips and allowed to stay in the bush for a few days. Then Returned to the bus.

    Yep,

I get your point Andy … but even the VP of Sales stated that these class B’s were made for going from “one home to another” or “hotel to hotel”.

Extended stays in NP’s, especially since most NP’s are out West, would require longer distances and carrying more cargo. Although I think if you’re single, you would not need to carry as much “stuff.”

That said, over the last 2+ years on the road, I’ve been amazed at the smaller sizes of what some folks can “full-time” in or travel extended periods of time in. No doubt, a mind-set …

On the plus-side, my wife would drive this Airstream, as opposed to our bus 🙂

Hugo, I don’t know specifics on your make generator. However, I have had a similar problem in the past and a couple of weeks ago. It sounds similar to mine in that the generator would turn over but not run. I changed the fuel filter and after doing that it fired right up. So if you can identify the fuel filter and get the part number from the existing element, go to NAPA and pick up a new fuel filter and change it out. That is where I would start. Just out of curiosity, do you know when the existing filter was installed and how many hours has the generator run on the existing filter? I place a label showing date changed out and hours total on the generator.

I wash it with soap and water to get the grime off. Then I go over it with waterless wash and microfiber cloths to get the waterspots off. Works pretty good.

The volume or tank size will definitely impact the amount of time it takes to air up a deflated bus.

Depends on how fast you want to air up the bus. For airing up tires and the bus, I would suggest a size similar to what Tom has chosen.

I have a 150 gal tank, but I still use air tools often.

That type of conversation is old news, Di and I have narrowed it down to this:

Tom – Hi Di is dickhead home

    Di – Nope running errands

Tom – OK, I’ll call back during happy hour

Clearance lights should come on with the headlight switch in parking mode or headlight mode.

Yeah, the 13 volts on the switch and no through voltage on the pressure switches threw me for a loop too. When I jump those pressure switches the service brake light illuminates but no light for the parking brake and no change in idle.

As to ground, outside I used what I think is a ground lug in the top compartment. Inside I used a bolt on the steering column. That may not be sufficient. Nothing else I touched for ground gave me anything but that bolt gave me 13 each time. I will try again and place the ground on the lug outside.

I will also check continuity between pin #1 and junction 69.

Last 8 of VIN are S1001536.

The shop did a test drive and I rode in the co-pilot chair. Heard the jake and felt it in the seat as that 2 cycle did its jake growl. Jake slowed the coach on a down grade. Valve covers were removed when working on the jake as I saw the 8V with the covers off.

We just hated to hear this..I think we all fear this possibility.

I pray you will be treated fairly by your insurance company and really glad no one was in the bus at that time.

Jon, at some point you’ll be shopping for a new dash cam. I’ve been through a few and my favorite (to date) is a Magellan model. A notable feature is that the rear of the camera is an LCD screen and when recording, the display shows the speed in large numbers. Placing it on the lower part of the window allows it to act as a “head up” speedometer. Because of the incorporated GPS, I’ve found it to be spot-on accurate.

    Jon,

I just clicked edit and got an error message.
