  • Carlisle Autofest – February 22 – 25, 2018

Posted by needtocamp on December 2, 2017 at 11:33 am

We are pleased to announce our alliance with Carlisle Events and would like to see a good turn out for Autofest in February 2018. There have been improvements at Sun-n-Fun with the addition of 70 new RV sites that include 50 amp power and water at each site. Be sure to contact Bill Miller by phone or e-mail to make your reservations.

This is a great opportunity to have a lot of fun, hang out with a bunch of PC people, have some privacy we haven’t had at past Autofest events, have hookups, and get to see a lot of neat vintage cars, and maybe sell or buy one of your own.

What is not to like about FL in February? Let’s fill all 70 sites and make this annual event something we all need to have marked on our calendars. If we can generate the numbers of folks attending we will work to add significantly to the activities including coaches for sale, seminars, etc.

Sign up now and be assured of a great site.

Thanks Tom and Jon! We are already getting some sign-ups over the weekend. The whole event is coming along nicely and we will have a few more activities added soon. I will be sure to post everything here as soon as they are confirmed.

I was working over the weekend on what might be a great addition. Tony (our auction manager) and I have been working out the details on possibly having one of the catered dinners in the auction hanger. This will make for a great open air atmosphere and allow us more room than the Cessna building. To make this viable will need a minimum of about 30 coaches pre-registered. According to previous years this should not be an issue. So sign-up now so we can add this to the agenda!

Thanks as always and if you have any questions at all don’t hesitate to email or call. Bill3@CarlisleEvents.com 717-215-0700

Now that we are back on the road Joanne and I are looking forward to this event. We really enjoyed the previous one we attended , the Carlisle folks did a great job putting on the event and the auction was a lot of fun. We managed not to buy anything but who knows this year?

This rally has to be the best of the best. We all get to hang out together in a private campground area but this is like a walk down memory lane.

All week long cars for the auction are arriving and with our passes we have unlimited access to hundreds of cars that do nothing but bring back memories. Even if you don’t buy a car just the opportunity to spend time walking through hundreds of vintage cars is worth the price of admission.

The auction is not the only thing happening either. There are all kinds of vendor booths where you can buy memorabilia or car parts or even products to make your Prevost look even better. There will be a car corral where if you like what you see you can negotiate the price right then and there.

But the centerpiece has got to be the auction and before and during the auction you get a first hand look at the cars lined up for the auction block.

I was just at the facility today and they are putting the finishing touches on the last few spots. Remember this is facing the runway so you will have a built in air show all week. It’s a fantastic location if you haven’t seen it.

Elsie and I may have to sneak up for a day just to check it all out but would be busless as we are at our winter home in Sarasota.

    Sounds like a fantastic time!

    Alvie,

Call me if you come over and I’ll pick you up with the golf car, the general parking is a hike from the event.
